I'm sure battery life is an issue for many people, also no skype video chat. Is there anything else you don't like about this phone? I'm on the fence on this phone right now, and wanted to hear out people's complaints on this phone before i pull the trigger.

ah i am still locked in for another 8 months for my previous 2 year contract, and was looking to use 1 year Early Upgrade program for this, but wanted to sign up for only 1 year contract.

I was just looking around on VZW web looking at this option to see if i could sign up for only 1 year contract, not 2-year...but it doesn't seem to offer that option when i upgrade thru early upgrade.

Does anybody know if early upgrade only allows new 2-year contracts?

If you are using an early upgrade on a two-year plan you can only use the two-year extension.

Battery - though it's getting better. I went almost a full day yesterday since I unplugged it in the morning. Otherwise, this phone is FANTASTIC. HTC Sense is very very subtle and doesn't get in the way. In fact, I like Sense. And the HTC keyboard is really nice. I like it better than the iPhone keyboard.

My biggest complaint is the kickstand is positioned such that you can't charge while the kickstand is in use (well you can, it just defeats the purpose). This is more a minor annoyance than anything though, as I don't really need the kickstand ever.

My battery is now going on 25.5 hours and has 16% left. I was mostly on wifi during this time so that seems to be a huge battery saver. If I am on the road or out of a wifi zone it seems to drain more quickly. Juice Defender claims it saved 1.24x battery, or 24%, but not sure if this is accurate.

I still have no battery gripe. I've had my phone unplugged almost 23 hours now and I'm still at 39%. A bunch of it has been wifi, but honestly, if you have wifi available and are using 3g I have one question for you. WHY? Anyway, I've played games on it and downloaded AND streamed music during this 23 hours. Partially on 3g, partially on wifi. I'd say the battery life is great given that the battery is only 1400mAh.

I was able to do an early upgrade after 1 year of contract and still just take a 1 year contract on the TB. I went to the store and told them I wanted the TB with a one year contract. They could not figure out why it was not an option so they sold me the 2 year contract and called support to have them change it to a one year. I verified this in My Verizon, they did just end up giving me the 1 year contract. So it is possible if they want to do it.

You will love this phone people just expect unrealistic things from phones. The battery life isnt that bad, but its not great either. Other than that I love the phone and once 4g is in my area I will love it that much more.

Here are my complaints:
Size That's what she said. I am a guy with small girly hands and this thing is too big. I didn't realize this before I bought it, how would I have known? I like to wear skinny hipster jeans and this phone doesn't even fit through the pocket hole!
Weight It is heavy and feels like a brick! Lifting it feels like a workout! I am a heavy guy (mostly fat, no muscle) and it feels painful to hold sometimes!
Not dual core I don't even know what that means or how that will improve the phone but I want it because it sounds cool! I heard my friend say that the youtube videos load up faster on his Atrix by about 0.5 seconds. That is 0.5 seconds of my life that I'm not getting back.
Screen It's not a retina display! I heard those are made by apple and they look like a retina or something cool like that.
It's not an iPhone I thought it would be an iphone but it's not an iphone.

I think that's an unfair comment. I love this phone, but people are entitled to their opinion, and it's nice to be aware of potential problems.

My VZW corp store is giving me the 2 year for $199. That is what I am going to do as of now. Heading there Monday AM.

I ordered on an early upgrade for $229 for a 1 year contract. They weren't able to get that price in the store, but online it worked just fine. I heard I will be eligible for a new phone in 10 months.

Phanbois are all the same, no matter what flavor the device. God forbid someone doesn't like something about the device they own. Insecure much? It is a phone, not your child.

There are things wrong with this phone whether certain folks believe them to be true or not. There are also things this phone does far better than any other phone. Just need to see if the good outweigh the bad and then make a decision based on that.

There will be plenty of iPhone's with lack of flash and microSD support, lack of customizations and small processors available for you.
