Root [ROM v3] 2.3.7 GingerXperia Revolution ROM for X8

guys... pls somebody help me with this issue..

i installed 2.3.3, everything went fine... but it isnt detecting my sd card..
sd card 8gb.. has two partitions fat32 n ext2...

i rechecked everything mentioned abv.. reinstaled stil not working..

pls.. help me...:(

Hi, You only need one FAT32 partition for the new Gingerbread ROM.
If you use a third party app do not name your newly formatted partition.
After you re-partition you need to format using the X8 just to be safe.

cheers :)

k. thanks for the valuable replies...

i did it and it works great... but im not satisfied with the Rom.. bit unstable..

so, i decided to go back to floyo 0.15... xrecovery backup n restore
now my xrecovery says md5 mismatch... really annoying me.

what to do..

Hi,

a) I have just updated my post above for stability for CM7-X8-J005 if you wanna give it another try.

b) you have a corrupted froyo-0.15 file. (i) Download again from developer's website (ii) Unzip to desktop and check unzip logs for issues during unzip.

Note: turn off your <usb debugging> when you are copying the files to your phone.

cheers :)

Hi all,

I agree with gabeyong that the J005 is the best rom.
(I have tried floyo-15 but I think J005 is far better).

I have also tried v006a (is also good with less apps and options that J005).

Bluetooth does not work in all 2.3.3 (j005 and v006a) (in floyo is OK) - this problem has also been reported by others in Xda forums.

So, I propose to focus on one version (possibly j005) try to fix the bugs and then in will be the perfect solution for X8.

Cheers

HI,

Yes, Rooted+xRecovery [JIT option can be enabled]
...but with Quadrant scored around 1000, I didn't bother to enable JIT.

Still waiting for a stable 2. 3. 3...
Bluetooth is a must for me.
N.

Agreed. Need bluetooth so much ! maybe I'll wait for a perfect release (or almost perfect :D ) of this ROM.

Hi gabeyong, you really helped me a lot, and i was able to install 2.3 custom ROM on my xperia...
There is just one little thing i would like to know, so if u can please answer...
Is there any way to import multitouch on my xperia x8 with 2.3 system...

Hey,

There is no multi-touch on the Xperia X8
It has a single touch - TFT capacitive touchscreen.
There is no software option to enable multi-touch because it is hardware limited.

Sorry for the bad news dude....

cheers :)

p/s both Froyo 2.2 and Gingerbread 2.3 supports multi-touch if you have a phone with a multi-touch screen.

Hi. I want to be clear about this, after reading racht's post, I'm getting confuse with multitouch thingy.

Quoted from racht @ xda

ALERT!
The guys at X10 thread have found a way to load a custom kernel !
So, our hopes for Multitouch,BFS,Overclock, etc can soon be real!
Freedom is so near!

He sounds like multitouch is possible, because its related with its kernel. Not the touchscreen instead. just askin, because I can't get rid of this multitouch for x8 out from my mind !

Hi,

That is a good question.
And I hope the guys in this forum can help shed some light as well.

I hope you made a backup of your data in your 2nd ext2 partition.
I don't think xRecovery will write data back onto the 2nd partition.

I think the correct method is to re-partition your SD card and copy manually all the data back into the ext2 partition and then restore with xRecovery back to 2.2.

Cheers :)
