What features do you want on the Evo 2?

so what does this display mean Worlds first qHD 3D display on a 4.3in screen (Pixel Density Classified)

Comparing it to LCD on the current evo or the nexus S super amoled, I care more about screen qality then processor, my evo is fast enough

Meaning there is not a single 4.3in qHD 3D screen in the world. Rumors have it at 540x960, but that would be for a phone of a lessor 4in screen size correct?
Cheers,

BSOD, is it actually 960 wide in 2D mode, and 480 wide in 3D mode, or are we talking true 960 wide in 3D mode (meaning 1920 wide in 2D??)? I know the parallax 3D display in the 3DS has double the width pixels to account for showing independent left and right fields.

Above is assuming the 3D effect only works in landscape. Correct me if I'm wrong anywhere above, which is very possible :).

BlueScreen, you've been an amazing "dealer" these last 2 years in satisfying our addictions!! I can't thank you enough!

The only other question I have is will we have front facing speakers at all? Anytime I want to show someone a video on my phone I have to cup my hand around the back so the sound come to the front.

THANKS AGAIN FOR YOUR TIME & INFO!!!

Will the wireless chip include support for 802.11n over 5GHz band also and not limit it to only 2.5GHz?

according to pocketnow
"Going by model number PG86100, the HTC EVO 3D received certification for 802.11 a, b, and n communications. The 802.11 n performance was only evaluated on the 2.4GHz band, and not the additional 5.0GHz band the standard supports."

@BlueScreen

What will the fps be for reg 720p video capture and 1080p video capture? Is there a chance that we can see 60fps out of 720?

There are no fps caps period. vid capture for 720p/1080p/3d720p/1080p/video playback of POV2D/3D/ H2.64 etc movies/Streaming 1080p/720p via DLNA/android games.

Stressed test all the above formats, load was nominal, need for fps caps non issue.

I had a Thunderbolt in hand when I began reading this thread. A thread I thought I would avoid as i was ready to say bye to my EVO for good even though I loved the phone. Fortunately, I did not cancel my service with Sprint and was amazed by the incredible features and updates the EVO 3D will have. If people like me come across this thread and Sprint is reading this it's because of you my htc thunderbolt made it's way back to Verizon... I do have one question, will this phone share a similar look to the HTC Pyramid I caught at the link I will leave below.

HTC Pyramid: First Renders?

I was hoping the LTE would work better in my area than Sprints 4g and at times the speeds were fair. In other areas the speeds were amazing. Reading that the EVO 3D will also be backwards compatible with LTE was a classically smart move.

Kudos to you and HTC for making what appears to be one heck of a phone. Thanks for listening...

D.

First thank you BlueScreen for all the information. We have been guessing for too long lol.

I second this, I always cup my hand over the back to get the sound out front.

Now I have to spend however much money in june when i just got my first evo this past december.

Bluescreen, I know you said that you had a 3 MP front facing camera and not a 1.3 but the setups seem to be showing 1.3mp instead. :(

BlueScreen, as the info you provided prior to the original EVO, I thank you again for all the inside info for the next generation EVO. I really didn't think I'd upgrade my EVO so soon after getting the original one, but everything you've mentioned has made me change my tune and I'll likely be upgrading again come June!

Keep all the info coming!

Are more video formats supported besides .mp4? Would be nice to have xvid out the box. And I foresee another Evo shortage this summer...

There will be no shortage of the OG's on ebay/craigslist haha, I'll need mine up there to recoup the cost of the 3D lol. Actually I think I will pass my OG onto my gf so she can drop that samsung like a bad habit and i will pay outta pocket. She has already called dibs on my evo.

I believe the original Evo shortages where due to the shortage of screens.

I would hope that both HTC and Sprint learned from last yr and now knows the type of monster they will be facing this yr. I was lucky enough to get my Evo from Sprints website on July 2 and when I checked back later that day, it was sold out.

Expect pre orders to sell out quicker this time around.

I just wounder if Google will be handing out free Evos this yr like they did last yr.

Here's a question that I haven't seen anybody else mention about the EVO and upcoming EVO 3D.

Why is it that the Incredible got 8gb of internal storage + a slot for the SD card, but somehow that's not translating to what the EVO 3D is going to have?

I never paid attention to the reasonings after I got my original EVO on launch day, but I've always been curious about that. Seems kinda strange to me that the additional internal storage given to the Incredible did not find its way over to the EVO 3D. I may be way off base, considering I didn't pay attention to how much of that 8gb was actually used up on the Incredible, but just trying to put some logic into all of this.

Of course, I will say that regardless of the internal storage on the EVO 3D, I'm still going to be upgrading...LOL

Huge thanks to Blue Screen for all of the exciting information.

I used to be a B'berry user. Wanted an iPhone, but not enough to go back to AT&T. Saw the EVO specs and knew that was the phone. I pre-ordered it a month ahead and picked it up on launch day. Since that time, I've loved the phone and become a bit of a gadget geek (sorry, no offense intended). Really wanted the Thunderbolt - but now, I am salivating waiting for this phone. This phone will rock.

Funny thing - I'm here in Orlando for a work conference. Some of the Sprint folks invited me to dinner tomorrow night, but I had to decline. Can't wait to hear the buzz after the official announcement.

Greatest thing about this, dylan, is the fact that I'm not actually upgrading because I hate the EVO. I love the EVO so much, ever since I bought it, but the EVO 3D just seems too good to pass up, even though 1 year down the line, Sprint's next version of the EVO might be SO much better.
