Why didn't the TB have specs more like the EVO 3D?

Wow...all I have to say is wow! The specs that are peeking out tonight about tomorrows launch of the EVO 3D make me want to throw up! How on Earth did VZW miss the boat on this one. The specs are mind blowing,
1.2GHz dual core processor
4G Wimax speeds
4.3- inch screen with 960x540 pixel resolution
Dual 5 mega pixel cameras that can record 3D video in 720p, as well as regular video in 1080p
Plus a 1.3 megapixel front facing camera

My Thunderbolt is not feeling so revolutionary at this moment.
This EVO 3D phone looks bananas.
However, it should be interesting to see what size Battery HTC ships with this phone.

Who is kidding who? ;)

If the specs were reverse, but the VZW device still had 4g, most people would be talking smack how the TB kicks serious EVO 3D butt for specs. Probably just as well, considering how excited folks are already about the TB. If the TB had the same specs as the new EVO and 4g, some folks here would need a moist towelette. :)

In their defense, I would be excited too with 4g. The news that my area will not get it until late next year has made me a grinch :(

Apparently has a 1750mah battery and similar price as the TB. Not long to find out.
I wish I had that. That sounds great. with 1750 atleast I could get through a work day. Heck my battery is so sorry I'm not even asking for a full day, just a full work day...........and cant get it.

lol we got a BS battery thats good until lunch time.

maybe if I go complain to verizon enough they will give me a battery. i know int he contract if you go for a problem 4 times they have to do something for you.

WHO CARES?

Guess what? Im sure a few weeks from now another phone will come out that will blow away the EVO 3D and after that a QUAD CORE SUMTHINMAJIGGA 4D! OMFG!

It's technology, we are always going to be chasing it.

Ugh, hate these threads with a passion. smh

Ohhhhhhhhhhh ease up killa! Someone got a gun to your head telling you to post here. If you HATE the thread with a Passion, simply don't stop by to chat with us. See how easy is it to just keep it movin. Yes were all well aware of how fast technology moves, all very much aware.

Highly unlikely, sure there will be phones coming out soon that rival, but I doubt we will see many that blow it away. The EVO has been one of the best Android phones over the last year.

I am happy with my TB and happy with Verizon.

Also though, apparently the EVO 3d will be LTE and Wimax capable, first phone to do that. Wonder if same LTE as ours? doubtful,

Very interesting Wolf...LTE and Wimax capable! So interested to see the size and thickness of this beast. The EVO blew a lot of us away last year, I guess we should get prepared for more of the same tomorrow.

Looking into it, the 3D feature making an appearance doesn't really excite me in these new HTC phones! However dual core processors do, and the talk of QHD displays, and stock 1750mAh batteries does as well. Those 3 things would have basically took the Thunderbolt and made it a top tier device for at least the rest of 2011. I don't want to hear jack about this phone being developed some time ago! If that was the case, then it should have been outted sometime in late Nov/Dec, not Mid March 2011 when brand spanking new ones with such crazy features get announced a week later! Seriously now, this goes beyond chasing technology, it becomes a stomp, and a slap in the face to Thunderbolt customers that just signed 2 year agreements. Anyone who feels different is kidding themselves. Devices with features like this don't out due the TB, they eclipse it totally!

I wonder if the new Snap dual maintains the same architecture as a base, or did they make better efforts with power management than current single cores? The A5, OMAP and Tegra 2 duals have great power management.

Jeesh- just imagine a Snap dual core with double the current battery power hunger.... Folks would say using the phone was the best 15 minutes of their life :) ;)

what would you expect by comparing a phone that started development after the TB to the current specs of the TB and then complaining about it having better specs?

the EVO 3d has some nice features, no doubt. the reason it has a bigger battery is to feed that dual core processor...while also using wimax. i can bet battery life between the TB and EVO 3d will be a wash. better res screen, woohoo. dual core, oohh ahhh. lol. the TB is out right now on the best carrier and is a great phone in its own right. even though the EVO 3d has better specs, it still isn't a carrier switching achievement imo. congrats to sprint users, you'll be getting the most powerful HTC device to date. ...but you're still on sprint. :p
