So when the Amazon app store opens

The issue is sideloading, which may also be an issue for amazon. If Amazon only allows the app to install from the amazon market, we are screwed (unless you root and enable non-market apps) since the install will be blocked by AT&T. If Amazon lets you download the apk file to your pc, you can use ADB or the sideload wonder mechine to install it. It all depends on if amazon will let us have the app or not.

I'd imagine that it would be a direct install and we would not be provided an apk. Providing apk's would make it harder to prevent piracy of paid apps.

If you turn On airplane mode and wifi you can access the market with out the AT&T block. You do not have to be rooted.

How did you get around installing taking these steps? I tried it, but amazon Amazon_Appstore-release-1.apk tries to install I get the "Security warning" This application comes from an uknown source.

I only get the OK option. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

I was able to install the Amazon_Appstore-release.apk, by using the Sideload Wonder Machine program on my computer since my phone isn't rooted. But when I try to install a application using Amazon apps application I get the message:
Security Warning: This application comes from an unknown source, and for your security only applications from trusted sources can be installed.
So is there a way around this on an unrooted phone or am I at the point of having to root to be able to use Amazon Apps that I have installed?

I want the free Angry Birds Rio :D

OK I've verified this works on my unrooted phone.

Use Sideload Wonder Machine to install Amazon Apps, run the Amazon Apps app and select an app to install. For example if you pick Angry Birds Rio it will download the .apk to the directory "Android/data/com.amazon.venezia/cache" on your phone the actual angry birds rio .apk is 'vnz42277.apk'. Now copy this .apk file to your Sideload Wonder Machine directory on your computer and install the .apk as normal.
