Help Trash collector?

How can I get rid of all the Trash! I finally figured out how to delete emails from the inbox, but now they end up in the Trash instead!!! Grrr...
I have tried to read as much as I have time for regarding email. Perhaps I set it up incorrectly from the beginning. I use Outlook/Comcast and set it up in the "regular email" Perhaps I should delete that one and use Work email? Would that solve the Trash issue?

To delete email from trash you need to make sure it is enabled in setting.
For example while in the folder page (inbox, drafts, outbox, sent, trash) hit Menu>account settings>incoming server settings. Scroll down to delete from server window, select any opion other than never. Click the next button and let the phone sync your new settings with the mail server.

Now go back to your trash and start deleting. If you have deleted the actual mail from you mail server you will have to delete each header in the trash box twice.

It took me 15 mins to clear 30 days of trash when I figured out how to do it.

Hope this helps

Wow. That works. I wonder how "never delete from server" equates with "never delete from handset"?

I just set mine to "When I delete from inbox" and now I'll just delete unwanted messages immediately and prevent them from showing up on my home PC. I'm guessing that the ones I don't delete will disappear when my home PC deletes them from the server?

That's what I have been doing, and it works fine.

Were you on the screen that contains your AOL inbox drafts sent and trash folders whe you entered account settings?

Each email account you have will have its own screen with these folders on it. From this screen you touch Menu>account settings>incoming server setting....scroll down to delete email from server... select the option you want.

yes i was in my Aol account and it only has server settings
Incoming- username
password
IMAp server
port
security type
imap path

Did i set it up wrong?

IMAP works differently than POP. When connected to an IMAP server it only shows you what's on the server and doesn't download anything. What happens when you delete messages from AOL without deleting messages on the phone? The messages should disappear from the phone.
