HTC thunderbolt needs some sections

I think it needs a tips and tricks section, support, etc etc.
It's looking a little gnarly in there.

Can you wonderful forum gods hook us up? :D

As Roze points out, Thunderbolt is the first of proposed changes in the way device forums are handled here.

Please use the prefixes for your type of post(s) there.

I've been hoping for the sub forums to be the long-term choice, but for now we've got this and it might work out well once users get used to it. Who knows?

Its just a shame about the "no prefix" option

I can't tell whether you're being serious or not. ;) But I was surprised to see that.. it just makes more threads that have to have the prefixes modified.

But most I've noticed are "General" > "Support," and "Tips" > "Support."

Pretty much the same as the device forums with subs.

Yeah I'm srrious this time. Worth getting statistics on how many calls are support etc? I bet Support are the most common and perhaps that could be default?

Hear hear, my man! +1, etc. :D

- Support

- General

- Accessories

- Tips, ..

- Beer related

lol .. but seriously, I agree Support should be up there at the top and no "no prefix."

[edit]: I just noticed that "no prefix" will bring up an error message requiring a prefix before a new thread is allowed. Cool. :)

I wanted to voice my opposition to this change and hope the admins rethink this change. It makes the site look more clutter, in my opinion. Also I believe it's not as easy to scan the forum to find subject that I want to read or respond to.

I don't know the reason for the change but I would suggest you run a poll and see what users think about this change. I would bet I'm not the only one who doesn't like the change.

Thanks,

We kind of did! It's stickied in this forum: http://androidforums.com/suggestion-box-feedback/229348-phone-sections-sub-forums-vs-prefixes-vs-nothing.html

Corey, you know that you can filter [general], [support], [tips], and [accessories] so that it looks like subforums (like you're use to)?

Please understand I am not trying to be critical just trying to provide feedback that I hope will help to ensure the great community doesn't get discouraged by site changes.

Hi Corey. You don't come across at all as being critical, only helpful.

As Roze says, that little drag-down menu at the top of the Thunderbolt form (there's a prefix selection method at the bottom, too) virtually turns the page into a sub-forum for members. Select "Accessories," for example, and accessory threads will be all you see until you change it again, or leave and then return (besides the stickies ;)).

Any time there is a change in a large community such as this one, there are mixed feelings about bringing about those changes. The Admin here has made it clear that this is an experiment and one that is hoped to improve certain things here. Time will tell.

Yes I know and I didn't think you were being critical. It just seemed that you didn't realize how to utilize the new prefix feature :) Changes are annoying and if it's for the better, then it's all good right? Once you filter in an area, it becomes 'less clutter'. That was what I tried to say in my post by answering your concerns.
