I live in Canada and I'm planning to buy a new phone after I get a job in the summer. I saw the Nexus S and I think it's a pretty nice phone.

I have 4 questions about the Nexus S:

1. Will it be on Rogers 3G network

2. What is the price of the phone on Rogers 3 yr. plan and what's in the plan? (Minutes, Texts, Data Usage, etc.) + what is the price per month.

3. How long will the battery last when I use it to play games, listen to music and use the internet (w/ Wi-Fi)?

4. Overall, is the Nexus S worth buying?

1- yes but only the one with Slcd screen that is poor quality vs the amoled version in my opinion
2-Really depend on rogers when they will lunch it , and data will be the same as you can choose right now on thier site

3- For this kind of use battery can hold up to 10h

4-YES!

I'm using a promotional plan from my mom's workplace which is different from the one on the rogers site, so will it also be the same as my promotional plan?

And what's a SLCD screen?

+ Will Rogers plan to have an AMOLED Nexus S for 3G anytime soon?

Yes your gonna be able to but you will probably have to buy the nexus unlocked , a SLCD screen is the kind of screen they are gonna put in the nexus s model sold in canada, and no any provider in canada will sell nexus s with super amoled.

I believe its super amoled but the super.LCD on the inspire rocks so I wouldn't be to worried. That video on YouTube is bs. The super amoled has 2.3 while the super LCD has 2.3.3 which has the messed up color temp. Video boy is wither ignorant or lying on purpose

no way 2.3.3 **** up the color like that I have my s with it and its so not like that I garenteed the slcd push out that kind of color because I had some and it can't be comparable to the super amoled!

there are articles all over the net that the 2.3.3 changed the tempature on the screen for the nexus S so Yes Way! Most not all were messed up thats why they are releasing 2.4.1 with sprint Nexus S and upcoming AT&T

AndreaCristiano,

I bought my nexus s about 4 weeks ago at BB in Virginia. It came out of the box as version 2.3.1 and it still claims it's up to date. Do you think Google decided to hold off updating the more recent handsets to 2.3.3 because of this screen color issue, and that folks like me will just be upgraded to 2.4.1, skipping 2.3.3?

Well its a possibility that they are either adjusting the issue and that is why a big chunk of nexus S phones haven't received the update yet. I don't believe the 2.4 will release till after April so you will probably see some version of 2.3.3 before the 2.4

yeAH but these people that are crying over the net are wrong, do a little research and you will see that 2.3.3 is an improvement instead of a failure. Anyway, I had a nexus one from videotron in canada with slcd and compare it to my nexus s 2.3.3 and the slcd is a cheap bleached screen made for broke iphone guys...
