I can't wait until I can root and completely eradicate all elements of Sense. I don't want a single shred of it on my T-Bolt. Not just the Sense launcher, but all of Sense UI. I don't like what it does to my Phone app, Contacts and everything else it touches.

My Incredible was a fabulously wonderful phone in part because it had absolutely no Sense on it anywhere, but what made it great was using AOSP ROMs and alternating between LauncherPro Plus and ADW EX.

I'm in the process now. One thing I'm not sure of, will have to do some digging, can the Mobil IM app be removed? I wonder if it's tied to sms/mms like talk is to gmail

Was always a Launcher Pro user on my OG Droid, and after using Sense on the Bolt for a few days and kind of liking it, I thought I'd go back and see how LP felt.

Unanticipated consequence: realizing that I love Sense's opening and closing fade/transition thing. Not swiping between home screens, but just the subtle fade in and out when hitting home or toggling between apps.

The standard Android animation (the iPhone-like zoom in/out from the screen's center) just feels kind of tacky to me now! I'm torn because there are definitely a few things I miss in LP.

Hopefully after I root I'll be able to get the fade animation in LP somehow.

Well the battery drain even with an extended 2750 mAh battery is pretty great. So today I ended up disabling a few other account syncs and options:

-Sense Weather
-Sense News
-Sense Stocks
-Facebook
-Weather

If I didn't outright disable it I put it on to sync like once a day esp for things like Facebook/Stocks/News. Also my friend mentioned that Blockbuster background syncs, so after updating the apps I disabled that as well.

It looks like the display is the largest battery drainer so far...today alone it's 73% of the Battery Use! Cell Standby only at 20%, Phone Idle at 17%. One day I'll put it on airplane mode and test it out. I have a feeling that Sense is a big drag and I'm sure LTE has got to be.

I'm surprised I can't get this phone to last as long as my Droid X yet even with this extended battery which was nearly double the capacity of the X's!

Hi all,
I'm trying to get rid of sense UI, but it seems I cannot do it unless I root my mobile.
I'm using HTC Desire HD with gingerbread, and I'd like to have all the beautiful black menus available on gingerbread (instead of those ugly semi-grey ones that I'm having now).
The thing is that I'm trying Go Launcher EX, ADW.Launcher and LaucherPro, I can not decide between the first two, which are the ones that I like most. Anyway even using one of these, I still have those ugly grey menus...
The thing is...
* Can you help me deciding between Go and ADW? which one is better? Is there any friend stream widget that I can use in any of these?
* Can you tell me how to get the gingerbread black menus?
* Can you tell me how to get rid of Sense UI? I mean, completely, not the Manage Apps -> Clear Defaults / Force stop thing
Many thanks!

I like the way sense looks...

How'd you get your screen to look like this?

My major problem with Sense is the three choices they give us on Dock: drawer, phone and customization. I NEVER use the phone button (direct dial everyone) and rarely customize other than changing wallpaper. So, those two are just wasting space. With Launcher Pro, I get internet and text and people down there, which is three less icons taking up space on my home screens.
