Root Tethering Issues

Ok decided to give this a try since I've been rooted almost 3 months and still have never used this feature.

I download the Wireless Tether app where basically you just tap the middle of the screen to start tethering. It starts up and says it's good to go with a green icon at the top of my notification bar.

My laptop picks up the signal and sees it's there. All good so far. I connect to it and it says it is connected.

But the problem is, it never gives me internet access. It says it's connected but with no internet access, might as well not be. My computer will pick up my DSL connection in the other room that is ran through my wireless modem.

Any ideas what is going on here?

Is your wifi on while you're attempting to tether?

The one that I have is called "Wi-Fi Hotspot" that came on the Sprint Lovers rom. Have you tried that one?

Is that on the market or you have to find it somewhere else?

Nevermind I figured it out. I had to create a folder in the sd called android.tether and put the apk in there along with a bin file I downloaded and when the app loaded and started, it loaded the bin and config files and I'm in business.
