I really wish it would speed up. I know that they only released the code to developers right before they released the xoom but I just expected more apps a month later. Especially considering that most of the apps will be ones that already exist and work on android phones. I'm not a developer nor do I play one on television, so I could be way off base on this. Let me know your take.

What kind of apps? While some of them may not be tablet-optimized yet, pretty much all the apps I use on my Droid2 work just fine on my Xoom. Are there specific apps you're waiting for? I've been seeing a lot of updates lately saying they were updated to work with honeycomb, so it seems like the apps have been coming.

Well one app in particular that I would like to see is a full functioning version of the Xfininty TV app by Comcast, not the scaled down version currently in the market. When I just look at the section of the Android market dedicated to tablets I only see 48 apps listed. If there are more maybe I'm doing a poor job searching but I would think the apps should be listed in the tablet section. I tried downloading different games randomly but it is hit or miss whether it works.

Yeah definitely don't just go by the tablet section, many of the other apps work as well especially if you download spareparts so you can make them stretch to the screen size.

apparently my comcast cable box isn't compatible with the app (getting a new one this week maybe that'll help?) so I haven't tried the xfinity app on the xoom. What does that one not do that it should?

Ok, I will have to check out spare parts. I'll also modify my searches.

The Xfininty tv app that's on my wife's iPad (I know, I know) allows you to watch movies and shows just as long as you are a subscriber to those channels. the version in the android market only allows you to set your DVR and serves as a tv guide. Can't watch movies or shows with it.

The Google voice thing is most likely Verizon's fault more than Google. As for streaming movies, they're probably running into the same DRM issue that Netflix has (and the reason why no real Netflix app for android). Basically the movie studios don't trust android to keep you from recording the content while it's streaming. Not that we would ;-)

So in your opinion we will never see them? By the way what would verizon have to do with my wifi xoom?

featured apps? whats the big deal? "featured" apps are just that. does not mean the other apps are no longer supported. what is your angle here sir/ma'am? i dont follow.. :(

are you saying the other apps have vanished from the market all together? is your meaning they are no longer supported for honeycomb? just looking for clarification..
I'm saying that when you go to the Market and click on featured tablet apps (Honeycomb) it use to have 59 apps now today there are 52. I would think that the tablet apps would increase..not decrease....right?

Does not featured mean doesn't work with the Xoom? Of course not. The pad has a featured app section, doesn't mean they list all 6 billion apps.

I am a little surprised at how slow many "main stream" apps have been in updating to work well with the Xoom. I have search multiple times for tablet only versions of my apps in cases they are not just updating my regular apps. For the most part - nothing.

Some examples that I have that "work" - but are clearly not optimized, or just plain suck are:
- SI Magazine
- Score Center
- CBS Sports
- AP News
- NPR News

These are all main players in the market and I am surprised they have not jumped on board yet.

I know I can browse to their main web sites via the browser, and some of these I do. But I love the app experience because I can one click into the proper news source rather than 5 click to it through favorites.

I am really bummed there is a lack of good sports apps for the tablet. Free anyway.

I just made an update to my game to support xlargescreeens and honeycomb. It doesnt scale up graphics, it includes full res graphics in the apk.

Could one of you try it for me please? There's a free version, no ads. (Check my signature, or market link to free version is here: https://market.android.com/details?id=com.base2.walkaboutdemo ).

I just did the first two levels - so no in depth review here. But the graphics fit nicely on the screen and everything seemed to work smoothly.

I returned my Xoom, and picked up an ipad 2. I really do like the ipad, mostly because of the well-developed apps but I definitely miss the whole "android experience" and am avidly watching the market for a tablet that I will want.

I'm curious about the number of apps now for HC. Are those increasing more rapidly now that HC has been out for a few weeks?

Secondly, is the market still landscape only? Can you rate / review the apps now?

EDIT: to keep on topic there is a discussion about the SD card and LTE: http://androidforums.com/motorola-xoom/317735-waiting-4g-sd-card-update.html

I just went to the market via web browser and saw that there are now 66 tablet specific apps which means they've added about 10 since I sold my Xoom about 3 weeks ago. Go to market.android.com to see for yourself.

Hmm, I see 66 "featured tablet" apps, but I don't think that is all of them, is it? I thought those were the apps where the dev paid extra to be "featured?" Searching on "Xoom" produced 426 results, but those aren't all JUST for HC of course.

I also forgot to ask....does the market now correctly show those apps in the grid which you've already purchased or do you have to open up the app first?
