So I finally got the 2.2 update the other day. Yay. I found it had a few minor changes that I liked and most changes weren't a big deal. One bad thing I started noticing first though, is a slight lag when waking up the phone. Quite annoying. That aside, there is a major issue that everyone needs to be aware of!!!! They added a "RAM Manager" within the "Task Manager." This RAM Manager gives you the option to clear 2 levels of RAM. Level 1 clears inactive applications. Level 2 clears inactive applications and background applications. I clicked Level 1, it notified me that it closed nothing. So I clicked Level 2, and now my phone is completely broken. It basically force closed TWLauncher, and now my phone can't restart it. I have tried to shut it down, it won't let me. I have pulled my battery 5 times now, and every time, the phone starts up, and it notifies me that TWLauncher has failed in some way and gives me the force close option. I can do NOTHING. Not a single thing on the phone works, it just doesn't respond to anything I try to do. I assume now I will have to take it in to get the software flashed, or get it replaced. I am warning everyone, STAY AWAY FROM THE RAM MANAGER!!!!! ESPECIALLY THE "LEVEL 2" !!!!!!!!!

EDIT: btw this is the most recent 2.2 update rolled out around March 24th-26th. I believe it is the ECO5 build.

I've been using 2.2 for months and I occasionally use level 2 clear and I have never had anything like that happen to me...

If you have been using it for months then you probably do not have the ECO5 build..... If you do, then you are lucky, because my phone is completely unusable at the moment, and it was definitely caused by the Level 2 clear.

yes I was using it on eb13(2.2), and I have ec05(2.2.1) atm. I don't know what to tell you .

I'm not going to use it anymore though :p

Good idea ;) I would just stick to the normal Task Manager that is provided. I didnt really see the point in the RAM Manager as it sounds like its not a whole lot different from the Task Manager, but I decided to check it out anyway. Bad idea. Will be stopping in to see if Sprint Store can flash it, cuz I can perform no actions on the phone, and I could do nothing when plugged into my computer either. Will report back here with whatever they tell me/do.

Well, they were able to factory wipe using a different method other than doing it through the settings, privacy, wipe (since i couldnt do that). I probly coulda googled this, but all it takes is: Hold the Power, Volume Down, and Camera buttons at same time until a menu pops up with different boot options, choose the factory wipe using the Volume button to move to the correct option, and then the Power button to select the option.

Time to spend all day re-setting up my phone!

Seriously, you'd be better off going back to 2.1, where most everything worked just fine. 2.2.1, even after the second release, is not ready for prime time.

Edit: Well I was just told in the Sprint store, that there is no way to go back to 2.1. So guess I'm stuck with a crippled phone, until they come up with more fixes.

Samsung sucks!!!!!

You could always root and rom. I had my reservations about it because my computer will not recognize my phone in the digger mode (1 plus power start) I have to drive 60 miles to my brothers to use odin.

You also could always use odin to flash back to stock 2.1. Check the Q and A section, and all things root and you'll find that you have options that sprint will not provide.
