Help How to pro long battery life for SGS

Hi

Thank you for your reply. Sorry for the late reply. I have Froyo 2.2 installed. I seldom play game. I turn on my screen just to logon to facebook after which i will turn off the screen. But I have background data sync though and 3G on all the time. Will that consume a lot of battery?

Thanks,

Hi all,I have had this problem as well and somebody gave me the advice to turn my background data and autosync off and it seemed to work. albeit only gave me a couple of extra hours but at least i can almost do a full days work without my battery fully going before i get home!a question i have though. if i go on 'manage applications' in my settings, there is an option on the applications to 'clear cache'. is this similar to cookies on your pc and is it beneficial to do regularly? are their any consequences to clearing an applications cache.thanks

The clear data for the application, is information such as your login info, saved data for that application, on games for example it will be your game progress and so on. It is not beneficial for data consumption as it might use more data when openning the app because it has to re download that info again if needed. But it is good to use if you are having issue with the application.

mgee88 think about it like a browser, you have data and cache, so the data is saved information like your password an so on, the cache is anything downloaded to the app. Not all apps have both. Take for example Pulse news reader, it has both delete Clear Data and Clear Cache. The clear data will remove the selected news sources, the cache is the downloaded articles for these sources.
