Why such limited activity on xoom forums?

When I was in the market for a new phone, I started watching the Droid Incredible forum. I watched for news and leaks of pictures and possible release dates. The activity was buzzing. And when it was finally released, the forum flooded with activity. You could post something, refresh the page and it was already on page 2.

So why is there nothing for the Xoom? Is this just not a desirable item yet?

There are very few accessories on the market, limited information and seemingly little buzz.

I don't get it....

Agreed, also a Dinc owner. The Dinc is a year old next month and there is more activity there everyday than the Xoom. XDA is the same for Xoom though. I'm not rooting until after the 4G update and SD card support. I'm wondering if others are like me. Truth is, I rooted my Dinc for free wifi tethering and to get 2.2 before it was pushes. With the development of all the different ROMS its been fun flashing my phone. I'm wonderig how much fun it will be to flash my Xoom over and over. Not as much I'm guessing.

I'm playing with my Xoom too much to have time to post here.

+1 I don't need to come to a forum to get confirmation that I have a good device that is useful to me. I'm too busy seeing how far I can take my Xoom to care about how people feel this tablet compares to an iPad or some other tablet that isn't out yet.

I purchased the Xoom for the following

ereader
internet
Downloading PDF files for mobility

So far no problems at all... other than the weight. After reading all the reviews I expected a few problems or lock-ups maybe because I don't add many apps and have yet to customize, my problems have yet to surface.

But no question traffic is minimal especially compared to the ipad forums.

Little surprised here too on the traffic. I do see that the Moto customer forum is very busy.
I have a Droid X and those forums are way busy all the time....usually 200-300 people viewing the discussion forum at any one time.

I think the Xoom forums will pick up. Loving mine. Using Touchdown for Outlook from Nitrodesk, Gmail, stock broswer, QuickOffice HD, CNN, TuneIn Radio, Scanner Radio, Rockplayer Lite, Pulse, Marine Weather, Wifi Analyzer, Google Books

Loving it.

many people are looking at the other tablets coming out and are weighing their options. forums are usually for people who have questions or problems and rarely do folks come on a forum just to sit and talk.

theres much info on the xoom on multiple sites, pick your poison. some come here, some go to xda, some go to other sites...

this forum has a lot of activity.. most people are hitting up a handful of threads so look at the forums and the thread counts and posts in those threads.... lots of activity.

im just curious what type of activity the OP wants to see? the rooting section has some activity, troubleshooting,, accessories... the movie thread is busy now since most people want to watch movies.

others are lurking and reading questions already posted so there is no need for them to post..

and yeah most are just playing with it and using it.

so i feel there is plenty of activity here which has INCREASED since the wifi only version released... those folks are now gravitating to forums looking for answers and finding their questions have already been asked and answered since the 3G model has been out over a month now...

Don't sweat it, I thought my Droid 1 was clunky and heavy.

I don't mind whiny losers who can't quit smoking thinking I'm fat and lazy. At least I don't smell like cigarettes, cloying cologne, BO, or curry.
Devices should not be clunky. We are in the 21st-frickin-century and have 22" transparent displays. This crap should be hovering! We are woefully behind schedule from these devices being able to build me an island and then transforming into a jet and flying me there.

I'm just waiting for the device to be, well...enabled.
As it stands now, my rooted Droid is far more useful than this Xoom. 20% of my apps actually work full screen, and about the balance that makes up half of them all work ''small screen''.
Thankfully Documents To Go works well as do a few other good office apps. It's not like the Xoom is entirely useless in this state, but compared to what we all know Android devices are capable of, it's definitely inarguably crippled right now.
Until some potential is unlocked, I don't foresee a lot of Xoom-specific buzz on these forums.

I still check the forum every day. But I haven't needed to post anything, nor have I really noticed any problems that amounted to something I could contribute to. The Xoom is working great! No issues whatsoever. As a matter of fact I don't think mine has been rebooted in a couple of weeks.

I really do hate that the price point is a little too high for the device, being that it's a first generation device going up against a behemoth veteran. But I hope people still consider it, as it is an excellent device.

There's definitely more activity on a phone forum than a tablet purely because of the necessity of each. It's to the point where almost everybody needs a phone. Tablets are an accessory.. and a much more expensive one at that.

There are a lot more people on this forum than others relating to Android, there's just less activity in the Xoom section. Other Android forums have more active Xoom sections.

Also, what Mitchrapp said.

The xoom forums on androidcentral are definitely more active if you haven't checked them out yet. Not sure why they're not equally active on Phandroid. Even though I hang out at Phandroid more I find myself mostly going there for Xoom stuff because of the greater traffic.

There's no activity cause everyone is done complaining, there's nothing left to complain about. There's also nothing positive to talk about. Its like were on a sailboat in the middle of the ocean, holding out for a stiff breeze to push us to shore, but silently accepting that it may never come. The downside to adopting early and drinking koolaid with a sugar substitute. No matter the taste, it'll always come up a bit short.

That's me. I waited until wifi only came out and bought a Xoom straight away. Candidly, the wifi only version of the iPad (and the lowest memory version at that) was the biggest seller.

I have the exact feeling about the weight. However, when I mentioned it in other thread, some members will start saying Americans are fat and whimpy to complain about something 1.6lb. I see xoom's weight is an issue and i'm entitled to my opinion.

It's the same weight as the iPad 1, though the iPad 2 is down to 1.33 oz. I think it's the fact that the Xoom is designed for landscape view rather than Portrait view so it's a little awkward rather than heavy. To wit, I paid double what I paid for the Xoom for a Sony Vaio X that weighs the exact same and curiously, the Sony feels 'lighter'. I guess it's our expectations.

Well if you look at all the tablet sections on this forum, you see the Xoom has the most amount (over 9000!).

However if this was a Canadian specific website, I can assure you Motorola products wouldn't get much buzz, Motorola are horrible with non-US/Korea consumer markets, I've been a Motorola user for 18+ years and I quit as soon as I started using their smartphones and I sure as hell am not bothering with their tablets.

Transformers, tablets in disguise?
