Help No data connection

I have internet on my phone, but refuse to pay for the Android plan. Internet works, but certain apps claim "no data connection available". Phone is rooted, unbloated, and i have rootexplore. How can I establish a connection to use things like Mapquest or GPS?

Data service setting in ON. I CAN send and recieve email through websites, but not through installed apps.

pay the extra 5-15 bucks, whatever it is. the phone line it's self won't connect to the 1x android data stream unless you do.

We've all cheated the system up to this point. I'd like to assume there's a way around it.

So you're saying you think you should get the benefits of Android without paying for it? Good luck, and let us know if you find a workaround via black magic, because you won't find one otherwise. I'll pay your monthly bill if you do.

Otherwise, suck it up and pay for the goods, or stop complaining about the fact that you can't get something for free. I sure hope you don't haggle with waiters about the prices on a restaurant menu the way you are about this, because if I were them, I'd be spitting in your food.

Merely a question and a statement, not a complaint. Thank you for providing your knowledge.

i'm sorry if you were offended by anything said but we each hold our own code of honor and most peoples code holds them to honesty.

there is a difference between working a legit loophole (hacking) and bypassing a companies system (theft).

most of us are not thieves but if i come across a legit hack i'll let you know.

Sorry, I just don't take well to people who have the answer but refuse to accept it. If you don't want to pay the extra 10 bucks a month, which is what some people might spend on fancy coffee in 2 days, then you'll have to live with the limitations of your decision. You could be spending 70 a month for a contract phone which doesn't have unlimited data, but that's ok. Switch to Virgin Mobile and get the $40 plan if it's that important to save 10 bucks, and you'll have what you legitimately need to run those Android apps, and your compromise will be 1200 minutes of talk time instead of unlimited.

I agree with you; I deal with people like that at work all the time. They ask a question and then don't like the answer. Oh well, there are those who see the world as it is and others who see it as they'd like it to be.

in my work not accepting an answer from me is not an option. i cut trees, if i say a piece stays, it stays. no matter how much you bitch or complain.... an no, i won't cut all the branches off a tree even if your gardner said it will "bush out nicely" that's called hat-racking... it's illegal and makes the resulting growth structurally unsafe.

sometimes you need to accept things you don't like...
