Flytouch 3 - Android 2.2

the real ft3 only has 1 tf card slot, it is possible you received the android 2.1 ft2 instead of the real flytouch 3.....

Found this iBex Facepad which also runs Android 2.2, GPS, and supports Flash 10.1

Aesthetically I def prefer the black gloss back, iphone 4 type edges and bevel. Still waiting on a review for it though: iBex Facepad Android 2.2 Tablet Pc - 10" 4gb GPS Flash 10.1 Apad

Found a review for the iBex Facepad here:

Hi all.

Has anyone bought this item on ebay to a seller named davepallot_com?

Cause i made my purchase on wednesday the 16th and the item still hasn't arrived.

Plus i contacted him for 3 times and he didn't answer.

I'm starting to get worried.

Regards

Artur

Hi
I bought one from davepallot_com and have had no problems getting replies from him. I bought it on the 15th and he told me when it got to the UK, that it already has the update so runs Flash out the box and that he's posted it from the UK so I'm expecting delivery before the weekend. I just contacted him through ebay as usual and he always gets back to me within 24 hours...
I'll let you know when it arrives.

Thought I would chime in...

I purchased my Flytouch 3 (I hope it a FT3...) from DHGate thru the seller

eshenzhen

I decided it was worth the gamble because of the DHGate guarantees, I payed with Paypal, and I have chat logs and messages with myself and the seller explicitly discussing that I am ordering the Flytouch 3, with 2.2, 512, 4g, etc... He agreed that if I was not pleased he would pay shipping for a full return (this was already guaranteed by DH but the thought counts...) Wanting to be assured of my purchase I decided to test his customer service by having him take a picture of my device settings showing 2.2 as well as having him install Quadrant to run a full scan. He did so within 12hr and sent me both images and indeed the item matches.

I paid around 242 for my order and it can be found here...

Android 2.2 10quot; X220 epad tablet superpa laptop sleeve ...USD 242.11/Piece Wholesale Price at DHgate.com

For now I am at ease due to the great communication and the steps I have taken to protect myself. I would indeed recommend this seller but I will check back in after delivery. I am also purchasing an Archos 101 on Monday and will have thoughts on that as well.

Cheers,

Howler

Edit: I also asked him why the image showed 2 SD card ports knowing that the Flytouch 3 has 1. He replied that is indeed the old image for the Flytouch 2 and simply an error. He mentioned that they sell a 2 SD card silver model which I surmise is the Superpad with 512 shoved inside and they also sell a 1 SD card Black model which is the Flytouch 3. This had me concerned but he is being transparent so I will let it continue but he is in for hell if he screws this up.

Hello guys, my fisrt post!

I got my flytouch 3 tablet 3 days ago from this site:

Fly Touch 3: Android 2.2 Tablet, 10.2, Flash 10.1, 1GHz CPU, Wifi, G-sensor, HDMI Output, Camera, 512M DDR2 RAM

and it's just got shipped, I expect it does not take too long to arrive.

The total was 170 for the tablet plus 25 for air mail shipping = US$ 195.

I also got this case from a different vendor:
http://www.ctobay.com/new-black-leather-pouch-case-with-kickstand-for-101-inch-tablet-pc_p8941.html
Same day shipping!

For what I could read there will be some workaround
so it works OK, so I intend to follow your hints and
I'll try to post a kind of journal referring to the posts/solutions
I applied.

So thank you in advance for these true reviews and
information!

regards,
Denis

I got my FTIII/SP2 about ten days ago and am having trouble syncing with Google Calendar. That apps like Jorte can't sync is weird enough, but not even the standard calendar app syncs. On top of that, I can go into Jorte and tell it to get national holidays from Google, which it does without incident.

I can't figure out if it's me or something else.

I'm hoping someone has the answer to this. I can't get the calendar to sync or gmail contacts. The reasons I wanted this as a toy failed me, though there are lots of games, but these are productivity issues and it is hard to justify the expense if I can't sync the calendar or contacts!!!

Hello to all!

First off this forum is AWESOME! It has been a big help. I am new to the tablet and android world and this forum has helped me along big time. All though I have read through all of the threads I still have a couple of questions about things I could not figure out. I have a Flytouch III (and yes, it is a Flytouch 3 with the one sd card slot) with Froyo 2.2-20110302 disco build number FRF85B kernel verson 2.6.32.9.

First question is i'm having trouble getting the GPS working. I have Google maps navigation installed but the maps icon does not show on the screen, only the navigation icon. When I downloaded a new launcher the maps icon showed but GPS is still not working. It says I need a data connection. So my question is do I have to be connected to the net to be able to use the GPS function?

Second question is about using a 3G dongle. I do not own one of the dongles listed as compatible. What I was wondering is if I bought one of the compatible dongles how does it all work. Do i just buy it and plug it in and it will work or do i have to subscribe to a service ( Verizon, Sprint, Etc.) I want to buy a dongle but don't want to pay for the service.

Third question is I have internet service through my local cellular subscriber. My phone is an LG and says it can be hooked up via USB as a USB modem. Is there anyway to use my phone as a dongle?

Fourth question is about rooting. I am inexperienced with rooting and I have seen forums on this site about how to do it but should I or should I not do it? I like the idea of having full control over my device to move files, etc but have no intentions of really messing around alot with the tablet or anything like that. Would be interested in updating to new firmware versions when they come available.

Last but not least any other FYI's anyone would like to contribute would be great and thanks in advance!

I can answer the some of the questions.
Google maps requires an internet connection, as it needs to download the maps off the net.
The 3G dongles are really small mobile phones operating on the 3G network. So you will need to pay for a service. But if you already have a 3G service with your LG and local cellular subscriber you could just buy the dongle and pop the sim card from the LG into the dongle, or see if the are willing to provide you another sim card with the same number on it. Some providers do this some don't.
The best way to use 3G is to get a MiFi device. This acts like a portable WiFi hotspot. You get the unit pop your 3G sim card in it, and connect your device to the WiFi signal from the MiFi.

Ebay has quite a few for sale and they are usually unlocked ones so should work with any 3G carrier. You may have to set the sim card up in a phone first, so that it requires no pin when you switch on.

Hi everyone,

Followed your very interesting dicussion, but not in possession of a flytouch3 (yet).
anyone experience with 10 inch APAD | Product category
Seems like good deals there, but no idea about the trustworthyness of this eshop....

No idea about the trustworthiness of the shop, but the prices are certainly better than I paid. Grumble grumble... wait... maybe I take back the grumbles

Hmmm... if I'd seen this before I ordered, I would have still bought the more expensive one!

Best YouTube Solution I found was:

TubeMate app.

With this app you can play SD vidoes without any issues and HD vidoes you can download with one click and play whenever you wanted it.

VideoBox user interface is not that goood.
