Help Phone is not turning on

Hi All,

I was upgrading by refering to this post but got some error. Then I tried burning the ROM that I had previously burned but that failed too.

During these failures all I could see is screen like below in white color with black background.

-----------
DOWNLOAD
-----------

And then I screwed up by taking the battery off. Now I am not being able to turn on the phone.

I tried hard reset (vol up + home + search) but didn't work.

Please help. How do I power on the device so that the host detects it so that I burn something.

@gazzz123, fastboot is not enabled :( but again the phone does not turn ON at all.

@dudeman1996, nop, it does not :(

I thought it is low on battery so I wall-charged it yesterday for few hours.
It is not showing LG screen either while charging.

Is my phone bricked? I hate going to service stations. I already have dead 1 TB IOmega lying around since a month :(

Save me!

Try taking out the battery, and plugging it into a USB port, see if it turns on or if the computer makes the 'USB device connected' sound that it does

"PHONE WAS NOT FOUND!".

Seems like a pretty serious error - what does that even mean? The software displaying this text is not on the phone - then where is it? Mars? Very confusing, you'd think they would give you some more information....I would be pissed off, sorry to hear about your troubles and hope you find a fix.

Same thing happened to my wife's phone, tried all the solutions given but nothing worked, it was totally bricked. Took it back to 02 shop and told them it just stopped working, they then sent it off to LG as it was still under warranty and we got it back a few days later all fixed and they even updated to 2.1. So if it'd still under warranty take it back to shop or send it to LG direct.

Maybe e-bay doesn't give you a warranty, but if the phone was new, LG HAS to give any product they sell a warranty, so maybe you can call a service center in your country or ask over at the LG global site.

Ok, so maybe this is an insipid contribution, but the other day I had a similar problem. First my phone wouldn't boot past the SwiftDroid startup logo. Then it wouldn't get past the LG logo. Then it wouldn't boot up at all. I thought the thing had bricked itself and I would be screwed since I bought the phone without warranty.

Later I realized that my battery had somehow lost its charge. That was the problem. It wouldn't power up because there was no power. After a couple hours connected to a wall socket everything was back to normal.

Cool, so I guess you're buying a new battery?

The battery is fine. I just failed to recharge it overnight, with bluetooth and wifi running the whole time. Thought it was plugged in but it wasn't. Totally my boneheaded fault. It's not a device or software failure if the phone can't run on a single charge for 2 days straight under those conditions.

I wonder sometimes about reported "errors" like these. You see an irritated post about this or that problem, and lots of sincere and insightful help from the experts, but the problem is never resolved, and the OP just disappears into the internet night.

I almost posted something dispirited about my "bricked" phone before I was lucky enough to have discovered my mistake first. I was able to "unbrick" my phone simply by plugging it in for a few hours. You gotta wonder how many other posters have similar problems, discover their mistake, then quietly vanish from the forum, happy to have a working phone again but deeply embarrassed at the same time.

I had my phone plugged in the charrger for 2 days, it won't turn on at all. i tried everything i found on the forums but nothing helps. When i did the upgrade from 1.6 to 2.1, nd when it went into Download mode, a msg popped up that there was a network error, i did like it said, to unplug from usb nd take batery out, put it back in nd restart. Well the phone never came back up! I got it from E-bay without warranty. tried to contact lg, but they can't do nothing... i guess i lost my money nd the phone =(((((

Oh right.. Well don't worry about it, we're all human, we all make mistakes. Don't feel bad :)
