How Time Flies

I remember the days when I was constantly in the Eris threads looking for the next big thing. It seems like just yesterday that Frisco, OftheDamned, Caddyman and myself were all over these threads trying to help anyone who asked for it. Since I've moved to the DX forums I've really missed the real "community" feeling that the Eris section had.

Congratulations on 10,000 posts Frisco!

yeah i missed the Eris forums, I always thought it was the lack of attitude in there, we all knew we didnt have the greatest phone in the world so there was more helping, less ewiener comparing.

I always had him pegged as more of a Robin Williams looking-type of guy.

I remember back when I use to spend tons of time here. But now that the Eris forum has died down a bit due to people moving on, its just not the same. And the other non-device specific forums just aren't the same. I even miss the rants on "how this phone is a POS and never buy one!" and the Task Killer threads.

I'll probably will be moving on too come the end of this year (I'm going to wait until AFTER November, since that seems when they normally release new phones). The nice thing is, by then, even the cheap Android phones are going to be tons faster than the Eris, so it will really feel like an upgrade! But my plan is for now, to make the most out of my Eris until that time swings around.

Still really like the Eris. I like the feel, the size, the weight, and the overall quality of the Eris. Everything still working perfectly, response is still not snappy but "quick enough" using xtrSense. Amazing phone for its time, and exciting at the time trying out all the innovative new boot options, rooting, and checking the forum daily to see everyone's latest experiences.

I'll get a new phone sometime, but not anytime soon! Ain't broke, and it's even working far better and faster than the day I bought it thanks to this forum.

Many, many thanks to all of you who were so helpful to the rest of us users during that time. I hope all of you are well and as happy with whatever phone you are now using as I am with the Eris y'all helped me understand and improve!

It's nice to see you, scary, and demache still around. I was checking my friends list; any sign of cableguy, or thenestor? I see smacky is banned again (surprise surprise).

cableguynoe is still around...I think he's a Droid 2 now, lol ;)

Haven't seen a post by Nestor for a long time...

Couple of others pop-in occasionally, which is pretty cool  :).

Good to see you too, Bishop!

It's crazy how time flies...still on my Eris and my wife still hates hers...I remember logging on here everyday looking for the latest thing I could do to my Eris. I have an upgrade, but don't know what to do with it! I rooted and run GSB v2.1 (Android 2.3) and it keeps me satisfied. I'm hesitant to get a Thunderbolt because I won't have 4G where I live for a while. I may give my wife my upgrade, and get her an iPhone, because the Eris made her hate Android...It would be nice to upgrade while the unlimited data is still available though...decisions decisions.

But anyways, thanks everyone for the advice and help with my Eris! This forum is not the same anymore, but good quality help is still available!

Great memories here in the Eris forums. Even though I've moved on I still check in from time to time. Best place on these forums that I've been able to see. Thanks again to all who helped provide such a great environment for our little Eris devices. My wife is still using it as a WiFi device, just no phone service. :) Never had issues, still running great since day one.
