Is your TBolt warm?

Got my TB yesterday and charged it completely before I ever turned it on. I bump charged it a couple times as well. Last night I had the wifi on with minimal battery drain. I shut the wifi on and went to bed. When I woke up, I still had a good 80% left on my battery. I didn't shut anything else off or change any other settings.

This morning, I went through all my apps and changed them to battery-friendly settings. Then I went off to work in Boston.

My battery drained very quickly (although I did d/l some apps and check/respond to emails) and was dead by 2 o'clock.

The phone itself was warm. Not hot, just warmer than any other smartphone I've ever had.

Anyone else notice this?

This is not a smart phone, it's a computer in your pocket...

SO TRUE! I was practically hyperventilating when I saw all the stuff this beast can do. I only hope the love affair doesn't sour b/c of battery issues.

That being said, it's only been a day. My plan is to monitor the battery for ten days and then decide if it's a keeper.

Thanks, all!

I configured most of my applications to update near every four hours of more. Today, I got through 7 hours and my battery was still at 75%. I'm not going to lie, I wasn't using it that frequently since I was working. But normally with apps running, it was usually down to 75% within two or three hours.
I noticed that browsing the Internet really kills the battery but I think that's common sense since the same happened on my droid x.

I have gmail, I'm not sure if you can set that to update in intervals. My corporate sync set to update every hour within the peak hours of 8-5. Facebook update every 4 hours. Weatherbug updates every 4 hours also.

This seems to be working out so far. I guess I should add that I am rooted and am using a custom rom. However I don't know if I'm getting any benefits from the root in terms of better battery life

I suggest turning mobile data/3G off if you are not using your phone at work or while traveling. Going into some buildings will hamper your 3G signal and make the phone work harder to try and obtain a signal. CDMA phones constantly search for the best signal on a CDMA network.

I suggest testing out the app Battery Indicator for free. Then move to the paid version of Battery Indicator Pro. The app gives you battery percentage in the to left corner of your toolbox and the temperature of your battery in the slide down menu. If your battery is reaching the temperature not recommended for your phone over and over again there is something wrong with your phone or battery.

What was that all about? Are you rooted by any chance?

I am rooted, but I think that I figured out the issue. That damn weather bug elite app that was free yesterday just burned my phone up. I guess it was due to the constant data updates, but I learned my lesson tyvm. lol I havent had any issues at all today, and didnt have any when I streamed music for eight hours either. It was in my pocket that whole time except for the few times I responded to texts or changed songs.
