Thinking of getting another INC - have these issues been resovled?

I purchased a DINC about 9 months ago and had terrible trouble with two things: reception and battery life. This was before the 2.2 upgrade. I moved to a Droid X for both of those reasons but I hate blur and would love to have the sense UI back...

That said, have any significant changes been made to the radio's software to improve reception? Also, did the 2.2 upgrade help significantly with battery life? Lastly did they ever fix the charge issue where the phone must be turned off to get the last 10% or so of a complete charge or is that still the case?

Because of the poor reception, I was dropping calls like crazy and my calls would cut in and out while talking. The phone's constant struggle to maintain a signal ate up the battery -- pretty much was dead by late afternoon. Turning the phone off in the morning and leaving it on the charger for another 30 minutes would really help battery life but was quite inconvenient...

Thanks in advance

My girlfriend has a Droid x, and as far as reception, i can make calls in any area she can. I have not had ANY signal issues!

As far as battery, the best improvement for me has been rooting and loading the CM7 rom. I am currently using (testing) the stock kernel and it seems good, and before that i was using the invisiblek #28 kernel which give me great battery life. Easily 24 hours with normal use, and waaaay better than stock. In my opinion, with these mods, it is the best phone out. And with CM7 gingerbread loaded, it is way snappier than your droid X. Check out craigs list. There are some really good deals out there. worst case scenario, you just sell it! Good luck!

I have only owned my Dinc for less than a month and battery seems about as good as my Moto Droid. As far as antenna reception I find it better with the Dinc than my droid. Where I live on my Droid I would have if I was lucky 3 bars. Now with my Dinc I have full bars and they go down no further than half.

As with the others, my reception has been typical verizon: excellent.

The battery having a little more charge at the top is due to having the device on and using power. It is not an incredible specific thing, and theres nothing that can be done to fix it besides changing from lithium ion batteries. Most devices hide this by fudging the top and bottom 20 percent or so. The inc instead reports the actual number as best as possible. I prefer my phone not lie to me.

Which specific CM7 are you using just out of curiosity? There are several on XDA. I like the looks of Nightlies...

The nightlys are usually good, but sometimes you get an unstable one. Right this minute i am using release candidate 4, and it seems really nice. Also using the stock kernel. You will love running gingerbread. Give it a try!

I decided to give Warm Z twopointtwo a try. It's pretty slick. I'm going to stick with it a bit and wait for the gingerbread nightlies to mature for a month or so. Warm Z has chad's 12/23 kernel. I'm hoping that it keeps the battery from running down during the day when I'm not on the phone much. I love the sense 2.0 UI!

Anyway, I've got a DINC and I'm rooted and rom'd. More fun to be had ahead.
