Yeah I am surprised as well as it seems gingerbread is getting pretty close to roll out.
I might have to go look at Gingervillian as I haven't used sense for a while.

Had a look at 2.4 LeeDroid and decided to go with that.
I'll let you know how it goes

I'd hold off on 2.4 for now!

Just hit the stuck on HTC logo boot problem that others are getting on reboot.

Just doing a restore back to 2.3d

The problem is USB debugging needs to be permanently enabled, which I never do.
Without USB debugging the phone hangs on HTC screen.
A fix should be coming soon.

Don't disable USB debugging until a patch is released.

I'm running it too, very good so far. I'm a newb to rooting & custom roms but this was painless and it's hopefully going to be the one I stick with.

Since its based on official releases and there is no desire official release of Gingerbread, I wouldn't expect it not to be froyo.

Running fine for me. Flashed straight on top of 2.3d, no wipe.

Now gonna try the no-Sense mod (use LP) and then flash my old theme back on...

Flashed no sense. Can't see any speed difference but it gets rid of the Sense lockscreen too. Good : I like it, bad : can't unlock with trackpad now.

Now just editing my theme zip so it doesn't flash the Sense apks back on the phone.

Got bored of waiting so installed 2.4 and no Sense patch.
Phone seems considerably faster without Sense and even getting nearly 5Mb write speed and 23MB read speed off the SD now

Can't be dealing with rebooting just now (in case it breaks again ) but I'll just have to live with the red ! in the notifications bar for now.

I was never one for displaying patience

I don't like red exclamation marks in my notification bar

I heard it can be a security risk as well because I think it allows debug code to be run on the phone.
It might be my imagination as well but it seemed to me the phone lags a bit more when used with a USB cable plugged in.
