I need HELP! I want to be able to access my desktop files from my phone at any time. Mostly this is to get access to my music. Here's what I've tried so far.

1) Audio Galaxy - This is great for streaming, but it can be finicky. I can't see an option to download songs to my phone from my desktop.
2) Sub Sonic - Same as audio galaxy. Why won't these darn apps allow you to save a song to your phone as you're streaming it. You should be able to store locally any song you play.
3) FTP server on desktop - I've tried setting up an FTP server on my desktop and using a client on my android but I have a lame Qwest router that I can't troubleshoot to get poke a hole in my router firewall.

Please help!

is it larger then 2GB? If not you could use something like dropbox which has an app for android now.

Dropbox Storage Extentions
- You can pay for more
- get up to 24 ppl to add through your recommendation(250MBx24 + 2GB start = 8GB total)

Locally
ES File Explorer has a LAN function built in lets you have 1 local and 1 lan folder open at the same time. I had to do this because the ROM I'm using doesnt like file transers over USB right now.

Thanks for the suggestions about increasing my upload speed and about dropbox. I'm afraid increasing my upload speed won't solve my problem because I want to have the songs that I listen to regularly stored locally on my phone. Plus, I want to be able to download files other than music files. Dropbox also won't meet my specific needs because I have roughly 1TB of music and don't want to have to copy music over separately onto dropbox.

It looks like Tonido might be a perfect solution. I'm downloading that and will give it a shot. I'll let you know.
