Root **Official GB leak 2 thread** (was Anyone get OTA 4.5.588? Possibly Gingerbread OTA?)

I recently rooted and did the gb leak and after having some serious lag I sbf'd back to stock. Now will that not allow me receive the OTA? Im a noob so help

If you sbf back to stock the or any ota for that matter should go through , usually just deodex files, custom roms/leaks and removed system apk block ota

I'm talking about root lol. I can wait for the actual OTA to hit my phone

oh ok

@ECF do you think I will have to install pre root leaked gb first for root or if it's coming straight from the "ota"

while I honestly have no clue, my educated guess will be that this will be just like the last rooted gb leak, a pre-rooted .zip file we will install (possibly having to be over 2.3.340)

This is really great news for the Droid X people and the rooting community! Those amazing guys at TBH deserve our sincere thanks! :):):)

Yes indeed. We should thank and SUPPORT THEM, especially because they took a lot of heat last week. How 'bout we each send a few bucks their way, huh?

For anyone interested I just .sbf'ed back to stock Froyo and then did a System update search, "You device is up to date! No update is necessary at this time." I expected as much, now back to custom ROMs.

EDIT: Then again, with what is being reported about them "silently" pushing the OTA to phones it kind of makes the update check worthless anyway.

Yeah thats pretty much how its been all morning. But thats the same thing that happened when froyo was being pushed OTA. It took forever to show up.
