@ddodge68 I used 4 different phones, and about 6 batteries, but not to bad. Failure was quick so moved to next phone.

1) You have to flash all three files or you'll sbf
2) They're gonna help folks who lost TBH get it back via an email communication.

Fixed my wifi issue. I guess when I installed Gingerbread, it couldn't connect to my router via wirelress N so I ended up changing the settings of my router to wireless G and that seemed to fix my wifi issues. To bad I manually resetted my phone before I did my router change. Now I have to download all my apps over again. Things I've noticed:

Good:
* I feel that gingerbread makes my phone feel more like a finished product. I know it sucks to always compare things to the iphone but the iphone OS is very smooth and fast. Gingerbread makes my X feel that way.
*I think it has improved my battery life. I've been messing with my phone since I updated and it seems like my battery is lasting a lot longer than it did with froyo
*I love the transition effect when you rotate the phone

Bad:
*While updating early is cool, not all my purchased apps show up on the market to download. This is a very serious issue that android has when you purchase a new phone or upgrade the OS. It's very frustrating not being able to download apps you paid for.

There was a patch that fixed this issue for the GB leak, fyi. I don't know if it works for the new leak. Probably not.

So here is my question, since someone messed up and there was a leak of an OTA that was pushed out to some people what is Verizon going to do? Are they boxed in to a corner now and have to go with this version? If not will they support both versions for the next update because some people who got this might not know how to get back to 2.2.340 to get the new OTA when it comes out. Or does Verizon push a update that will just update this GB build to get those up to the actual OTA when it comes.

The main reason I was thinking about this is I have been on the leaked version and love it. Everything is set-up the way I want it and running perfectly. I really don't want to go back to load this OTA get everything set-up and then have to do it all over again to get the final OTA when it comes. I guess until a ROM drops if I can not use it that would be a reason to do this then. For now I am thinking of just staying where I am at right now.

Nobody really knows...but I can tell you they WILL NOT be supporting two versions of GB...there will be the official...and the not ...

P3Droid just tweeted he has just left work. Oh the excitement.

not trying to be buzz killington but why so excited? gb leak for dx has been out(and rooted). this accidental leak only has a few bugfixes (tho has a newer baseband which is nice). nothing groundbreaking, imo.
but back to my question, just curious why you're so excited for a minor update like this

Sorry. Sarcasm doesn't transmit via message board posting. Nevertheless, I do enjoy flashing new ROM/Themes/Builds. Leaked, rooted, Deodex'ed GB has been very good to me, but I am hoping for a few small things. I like to squeeze every last drop of performance out of my phone. :)

Besides, what else would I be doing right now? Playing Halo and waiting for the GF to call. Lol.

And how do you know that this update is minor? What if it drives your car, feeds you supper, and takes your girl? :p
