Hey guys I started a new group for all Nexus owners to discuss their love for the Nexus Line come check it out!!

I joined, now my only problem is i am debating whether or not to sell my NS to buy the G2X or if i should just keep it and wait. The only reason i really want to switch is because i want to play Samurai II and Monster Madness. I really want to play some tegra zone games even though the NS would handle them perfectly.

Well what you don't realize is i am going to get the next nexus phone no matter what. I buy all of my phones unsubsidized and have no contract, so i think i am going to buy the G2X and then sell it to buy the N3. It's either that or keep the NS and sell it to get the N3. But i am way too impatient to play some awesome games.

Although i am worried about switching because then i will lose all my progress on Dungeon Hunter 2. It's by far the best game for android i have found. It's pretty much just like Diablo 2 for PC.

Lol. I wasn't being mean I was just saying. I am also a first wave of buyers on some occasions. I just think it's a little smarter to hold on to a phone.

This is why I have decided Nexus Line only this way I will get a year out of my phone guaranteed and it will always be up to date.

I completely agree with this, and typically I'm exactly that way. Before i got my Nexus S i had the original Mytouch 3G since it was released. But recently I was promoted at work, so now I have the money to get what i want. I'm on the verge of just holding on to it. Especially because i have never loved a phone so much and i think i might just be disappointed by switching. Even more now than ever because both AT&T, and Sprint are releasing versions of the NS. So now the development community is going to grow and grow. I think it's just the fact that there are games that i can't have on a really great device that bother's me.

I think if this keeps up with Playstation having there games specific for the Play, and Tegra having games specifically for Tegra processors It's really going to piss people off. Yes Android will get a lot more games, but when a phone is equally capable or more capable (Nexus S definitely out performs the Xperia Play.) then the games should be available for all of those devices.

With games being fragmented to specific devices more people that are a fan of Android will start switching to the iPhone so this doesn't happen to them. (even though i will never do that.)

I completely understand. That's why I will always keep a Nexus S4G & a dual core. That'll be SGSII. One with pure power & quality performance & design. The other benefits from updates & even though it's not dual it does just fine on a daily basis. Samsungs design & internals have proven to hang with the best. I was kind of hoping they made the N3 based off the SGSII with better hardware of course since it'll be in the future. Devices like these will be just fine in their generation & next generation. Tech moves fast but doesn't always mean the consumer needs to as well. Until those devices are slowing down for me or the successor comes I won't upgrade. I respect & welcome new mobile tech on any carrier even if it's not my carrier, but I don't hop on bandwagons. I'm not saying anyone does here either. Cause if that was the case we would jump around to carrier to carrier. I would like to play hardcore games once & in a while on my phone but I leave that to my PS3 & iPod Touch 4(Jailbreak). Helps save battery on my phone. As I like to listen to music all day. I think we allwill be happy based off what is said in this thread. All we can do is learn.

After waiting and waiting and, well you get the picture, my Nexus S finally arrived

I was getting a touch jaded after way too many phones (gosh, did I say that?), then this one arrived WoooHooo!

Yes it is after haveing the tmobile nexus S and going through 3 other android phones I decided I didnt like any as much as my Nexus so now I own my white AT&T Nexus S and love it even more than the black tmobile I had. From here on out its NEXUS only for me

I bet the white is great looking. Mines black.

Now as Android is maturing, these Google phones are truly incredible. I would certainly like to see Google focus on developing an Android phone division, where they are dedicated to sales, support, and customer service of both handsets (hardware) and the OS and related software.

This needs to be a stand alone business, linked to the mothership, yet responsible for their own success within the Googleplex.

I have several close friends employed there, so I have some insight as to how Google operates. They have the campus space and great strategic relationships, it's just a matter of making it happen.

They have all the resources and more, it's really a matter of organization, priorities, politics and internal hurdles caused by the shakeup. A direct result of their recent change in CEO's, this is a very critical transition period for them.

Public and Wall St perception is everything, and it's in these two areas that they have great challenges. With the exodus of some other key execs over the last several months, Google has image management challenges ahead.

Unlike Apple they don't enjoy the same benefit of the doubt, therefore they have a more difficult path to successfully polish their image amongst the analysts and financial community.

I would be remiss it I didn't admit I'm a bit concerned, as I'm a huge Google advocate, and believer in good competition amongst companies. Apple is a formidable enemy of theirs, and one that plays to win, no matter how unscrupulous or unethical they must be.

With several industry heavyweights and journalists in their pocket, Apple's advantage reaches far beyond their products.

The duo of Walt Mossberg and David Pogue at the Wall Street Journal, are Steve Jobs personal yes men. Writing glowing articles about every Apple product via All Things Digital, they have America's ear. They've been in bed with Apple for years, and now more than ever their influence has catapulted Apple's success into the stratosphere.

Now as Apple grows larger than Google, and with Facebooks huge impact, I'm rooting for Google and Android more than ever.

Obviously there's a lot of them out there, yet these are challenging times.

Working in the industry for years, I have a full appreciation for Microsofts deep resources as well. There's a good chance that Bill Gates will retake control and right the ship, so their not to be counted out either.

Finally with Google launching its own ISP mobile and home will be united something no one else will have.

So in the end no where to go but up

I believe that if they were to place the Nexus S in with AT&T and others with subsidies like the iPhone, that would indeed be the answer.

They need to do as you have suggested, once in the hands of more users, they would then become truly dominate over the iPhone.

Now that would really make me happy.

Thank you I will also say this. Some of the open ideals behind android need to be closed a bit. More so Google to hardware companies than Google to consumer. For instance sense and blur etc should be an option on a handset not required so if one wants to use it they can launch it as a launcher. This way all the android phones can be up to date with the OS. Also carrier bloatware needs to be only made available in app store like on my nexus S not pre installed. These things plus my above recommendations would secure android forever

It's clear to me that you have given this very careful thought.

I too agree with the fact that optional launchers would be advantageous so as to give users choices preloaded on the device.

I am such a voracious reader, that often I cannot remember where I've seen an article if I forget to capture the link.

What I'm referring to is I've read that the way Gingerbread is setup in the Nexus S, prevents the carriers from installing any bloatware. I was delighted to learn that.

The thought of, as you say, "Securing Android Forever" is simply the best thought of all.

I would love nothing better than to have it end up being the dominate platform, along with some other competitors in the smartphone space.

Yes, much like the example set by Samsung when they purposely spread the Galaxy S across all four carriers here in the US, I would truly be excited to see them do the same in concert with Google and the Nexus S.

Exactly. Although its a developer phone its obvious it is selling to more than just developers so expand it and dominate
