This .zip gets installed like normal in Clockwork Recovery
this is for the 4.5.588 build of GingerBread
As always make a backup before you install, I'm not responsible for what you do to your phone

Download from HERE

Credit to Airmaxx23 for the Circle Battery icons that he made

So I use the Droid 2 Bootstrap, just like I did to install this OTA/Leak 2.3 ROM and load up this zip file?

The only thing that will change will be the battery icon at the top?

I like to keep pretty close to stock, so I'm not so sure about this. I just have some apps frozen that I can unfreeze to get back to stock to accept any OTAs. I guess if I install this, my chance of ever getting anything OTA goes out the window, right?

Oh, have to be deodexed too? No thanks then.

Looks really nice though.

I don't think it will. You should still receive the OTA. After you accept it though I believe you will lose it all as well as root.... Don't quote me on that though. I have been known to be wrong in the past, lol..

This modifies the framework, there's a strong possibility that it will cause OTAs to fail. If the OTA does a sanity check on the existing system to make sure it's not modified (which it does, and should), it may fail.

It all depends on what they choose to check before applying the update. Frankly, I would fail an update if ANYTHING about the system has been modified - if I were a developer, I wouldn't want any modified system to be taking my update.

If you installed the leak, though, I wouldn't worry about this little thing. There's a strong possibility that installing the leak already killed your ability to get future OTAs - if they change ANYTHING about the leak between now and release, you're out of luck.

No worries. Just keep the 2.3.320 SBF file handy if you ever want to go back to stock.

Also, to the OP and Airmaxx, thanks again. To be frank, I try not to spend too much time screwing with my phone so repacking the framework myself was just not going to happen despite my love of the circular/numbered battery. This is exactly what I wanted.

You do not need to be deodexed for this to work.

no, you dont have to be deodexed. and honestly, #1 no it shouldnt effect you being able to get the OTA at all and #2 thats why I said to make a backup first.... backups are your friend and #3 I seriously doubt there will be a direct path from this build to the official OTA whenever it is released anyway... i could be wrong but I'm just saying...

yeah you beat me to the point I was trying to make with him lol. and yeah man no problem. I really wanted the 10% mod back and when I saw airmaxx's circle batteries I sent him a message to see if he could make the odd numbers and that id package them in with the 10% mod with crt... then it was just a matter of decompiling/editing/compile/sign/throw into zip.
usually the battery is one of the first things I change on anything im running lol

Guys...i hate to be a debbie downer about this effecting the OTA or not...but i'll bet a fiver that anyone running the leaked Gingerbread in the first place isn't going to get the OTA...the OTA is going to check for a complete version of Froyo 2.2.1...if it doesn't find that, its going to fail...

just saying...

Edit: crap...i need to read better...binary and EC beat me to it..
