Root LG Ally Development Ending?

Anyone else catch the twitter post by Trident? In that post he simply stated that he was stopping further development for the Ally. Thoughts?

I completely understand why he would want to, most ally users are pretty young and are demanding without thinking before they talk/type. I personally am buying a droid inc today and if trident stops with velocity 1.1 then so do my themes. I may keep my ally and continue to port themes on over, but don't get your hopes up.

Lets all be honest, the ally has been pushed as far as it can go. There is no going up from here. We will never see a fully working asop rom nor gingerbread.

Between Velocity and Frunisher I really don't know what else anyone could or should expect out of their Ally, and it is a old phone so I can hardly say I'm surprised.
I don't know what kind of donations the development teams have gotten for their work but I don't imagination they were up to expectations either.
I think I'm probably keeping my Ally for another year and hope they decide to at least do a maintenance release or two if needed. :)

Oh well. It was coming sooner or later. When the development stops, it stops. It had amazing support the last few months. The developers kept at it until the very end. Since it reached eol, only a few handful of people will own LG Ally this year. So it is reasonable that they might stop development when only a few people will own the device. So i say, thanks to the developers once again, for showing me the potential of my device. I wish you guys luck in your future phones. Have fun. =D.

I too knew it would end sooner rather than later, even if I didn't want it to. The Devs worked their asses off fealing with a slightly crippled phone and third party software. It really is amazing what they've all done. I'm sad to see the end, especially knowing that unless I find a sweet used phone deal I'll be stuck with the Ally until next May.

It is what it is and I'll deal with it. I certainly hope Trident and everyone else goes on to bigger and brighter things. Maybe we'll cross paths with a future device, maybe not.

popular mech. did a study of most of the new 4g tech and verizons lte was light years ahead of them all in terms of speed but no where near in the race when it came to coverage. as far as 3g goes i work in the oil field and travel all over and to the middle of well anywhere and nowhere .. at&t guys never have sevice but when they do there data rate smokes mine on verizon. but i have coverage 4 to 10 times more often then they do. i have noticed the sprint guys have fair coverage (still not as good as verizon) and i hear there 4g isnt to bad....
