i have samsung galaxy 551.

when i send an email thru my cell phone it sends the following codes with my text:

<pre style="white-spacere-wrap; word-wrap:break-word">Hello<br><br>How are you.&nbsp; </pre>

can any one help me, how to remove these codes.

Recently bought Galaxy 551 with big hopes...Issues
1) Dictionary (XT9) option missing in samsung key setting..plz tell me the way to enable it
2) Live wallapers option missing

1.)Download a replacement keyboard like swype
2.) There is a seperate thread for live wallpapers I have created.Check it out If you really want it.

Hi, I have just received my Galaxy551 and would like to select a different tune to certain contacts, can anyone tell me how to do this as I cannot find it in the menu and have been searching different sites most of the evening. I have just found this site and joined as it seems very informative.

Click options
select edit
You can assign ringtone there

In excitement I rooted it , then ran ROM Manager.


And just broken the working of my Back Button

Now please if anyone can help by providing Original ROM backup of their phone.

It will be really helpful in this condition as without back button, a lot apps keep running until I end them from task manager.


Please help.

Before Flashing ,reboot in recovery and perform a factory reset.
Or run these codes
*2767*3855# – Hard Reset
*#*#7780#*#* – Factory Reset
If you managed to install clockwork mod recovery then I am already impressed .If not then go to this link and Flash using odin.
Else go to care centre and have it replaced
P.S :If you have managed to install clockwork mod recovery please post the tutorial on this site.

Thanks karandpr!!! you saved my life!! I was trying to activate the ad hocs networks, as you may know, the phone just does not see them, just APs. I read that by replacing that file with another, the phone can, however, I didnt notice that I downloaded the Galaxy S version, not the 551, and it was failing.

I kept looking and I dont see one for my model. Have you heard something to fix that?

Interesting.I dont suppose file of SGS will make a difference since both use the same wpa version 0.6.10 .But from what I know (and tried ),0.5.11 does an infinite reboot and 0.6.10 crashes.

I get annoying phone calls from a particular number and I intend to block all calls and messages from that number. Also,I don't want any sort of notifications regarding calls from that number. Are there any features within the phone which I can use? I've tried call blockers from the Android market,but I still get missed call notifications. Any free app which blocks call without calls featuring in the call log.

Please help.

hey i just bought a samsung galaxy 551 a week ago and even when i have charged the phone for 3 hours the battery widget doesnt show the battery to be 100% and EVEN if sometimes the battery level goes to 100 , when i unplug the charger and use the phone for like 5 minutes , the battery drops to 80% , besides the battery doesnt last 24 hours of moderate use, is it just me or anyone else having the same problem or maybe the battery life of this phone is not so good, any suggestions will be appreciated .

Well as now swype has released beta version for samsung 551 one con has been erased but yet it would hav been better if it had live wallpapr and flash so dat i could have seen live match streaming..
and i have read dat all this can be done by rooting my mobile but i dont know how to so can sum1 tell me the process and also tell whether its safe to do so??? Thanks in advance

Try the blacklist app from market.
Handcent and Chomp can hide notifications for blacklisted sms.Blacklisted sms is saved in spam folder.
I dont think you can totally block a number .Notifications in missed call will come since Phone is integrated in android system

Almost 20-30 p.c forum is filled with battery complaints .Check the forum on how to save battery.Wait for 2 months you will adjust.

Check this thread for Live wallpapers.
Flash wont run on this phone for eternity or till adobe decides to make flash available for V6(Eternity).Flash lite and Skyfire are your options if you want flash.
If you have rooted the phone ,change the minimum limit of processor to 320 or 480 Mhz .It will consume more battery but games will run smoothly.

The same way you remove a normal app from

A.)Settings ->Applications ->Manage Applications - > uninstall

B.)Task Manager - > Package -> uninstall

C.) Astro File manager/Andexplorer -> uninstall application.

Now I dont know if where you live .Chances are some apps have been slipped in your ROM by your carrier. Then you will have to resort to Flashing generic ROM from samsung. .

Of course it is.LG op1 has ported CM 7 and is expected to have a 2.3 update in july or so.
Samsung is not interested in giving us any updates ,so we are stuck to froyo.(Maybe forever).
Compatible ,yes,feasible ,no.
