Reach of 4g LTE ?

Not sure if I'm in left field with this question...how far does the 4g/LTE coverage with Verizon reach? When they say it will reach an area will it include smaller cities outside up to a certain distance? 25 miles? 50 miles? 100 miles?

The Raleigh NC area is to get it at some point this year and Greenville is a larger small city about 80 miles from Raleigh.

I don't know either.... Asheville is getting 4G sometime this yr. We are only 40 miles away but we live in the mountains.

You won't be getting 4G from anywhere outside of a couple miles from a 4G tower.

That's Greenville South Carolina, not north. All the lists name Raleigh, which is roughly 80 miles away. Did someone say 10 miles outside the listed city?

I'm in Raleigh. No LTE yet.
Given how far Greenville NC is, its VERY safe to say that you will NOT be using Raleigh's LTE coverage. You'll get LTE when it comes to Greenville.

I live in MA and the only area to have 4G is Boston (according to VZW coverage map). I get no 4G in my town, 30 miles away. The next town over does, but I do not, bummer. What's weird is when I head further away from my town, another 15 miles west of the city, I get unbelievable 4G for about 10 -20 miles and then it's all 3G.

Anyone else have weird "blackout areas" in their state? I don't get how it's literally "jumping towns"

It will depend on what TOWERS have 4G receivers/transmitters. If Verizon says "Raleigh", that could mean every tower within the metro limits will have 4G or it could mean that the 4G signal will be on enough towers to cover all parts of the metro area with the signal.

You WILL NOT be getting it 80 miles away from the closest 4G tower. I doubt the useful range will even be a couple miles.
