Jrummy:
One zip install from Froyo Liberty to Gingerbread Liberty done ;)

Fabulous:
AOSP apps working: Launcher2, Browser, Calc, Camera, Clock, Email, Gallery3D, Music (CM7), Settings, VoiceDialer. Messaging most likely too.

Apex and Liberty Gingerbread are looking good!!
How awesome do you think these will be? I know I'm f#ckin stoked!

I'm pretty hype too man!

I'm still running 2.3.340 because I've been waiting for a liberty GB.
I don't think I'd want to go GB without liberty. Hopefully it'll only be a couple more weeks! Or days even..

Apex will have the stock AOSP Gingerbread, which is not the blur stock theme, it is the green and back theme. The hopes are that someone who does themes will be able to package a stock theme to put on Apex.

It kills me to type that, who would think we would all like the stock look that motorola gave us so much we would want that as a theme? I agree though I really like the stock theme as well.

Does not sound like it will be too long now. The only thing that would be better than waking up to updated tweets like these will be waking up and having the Roms live to download. I can not wait to see what Fab has been able to do to Gingerbread.

+1. Fab's stuff is awesome! I did the jump and will admit that I too like the new blur (ugh), but Fab gives it all the extra kick. Came from Apex 1.4.

Yes, I love Liberty, but Apex is definitely rock solid. On Froyo, it kept some good elements of blur.

Stock GB isn't bad, but I love Liberty!

Can't wait for it!

Do you guys know that this version of liberty may not be as good as the past? Kejar has left team Liberty and he was the main one behind the Rom, jrummy is the one behind the toolbox and one more member that themed it

I am interested as well. I hate to say it, but Gingerbread Blur is actually good. My phone runs smooth. The Blur widgets are functional (for the most part). I hope Apex keeps the stock Blur Gingerbread look though. I am really liking it.

From Fabolous's tweets, it sounds like ApeX GB will be more AOSP than current GB. I see the mention of a lot of AOSP apks being made to work on GB.........leads me to believe it will be more AOSP-like than GB-like.

I guess the more accurate statement is to say that it will be AOSP GB instead of Blur GB. We are used to the look of AOSP GB colors and such as Apex was themed to match it under Froyo. Now I'm wondering what AOSP GB will do in terms of actually having the under-the-hood changes without the weight of blur on its shoulders. More speed? More battery? Hmmm....

I'm not used to the Moto blur GB colors......I don't really care for them, that's why Inverted every apk and Settings menu I use ;) I'm not a fan of the light background colors....the blue is ok, but I prefer black, especially for the taskbar......I think this is 3 times I've mentioned this already.....lol

Well, yes of course you themed your own stuff. I should have said what some people saw for about the five minutes between loading Apex and their own theme. :D

Edit to say that I believe you made your theme color preference pretty well known when you ported BWC! I'm loading it as we speak :)

i would love if ApeX kept the stock color scheme as well...but Fab has already shown screenshots, and if he is working on all of those ASOP apk's then its certainly not going to be blur themed...

im with you on hoping that someone makes a complete Blur theme for ApeX GB...

Yeah, that's one of the reasons, but in this case I had to work harder than I wanted to :D

I'm that obvious huh ;)

Bouchigo, I'm with you. I really like the black backgrounds. Will someone be able to port over REVOlution for Apex? That's been my favorite Theme so far. I guess I need to learn how to theme things myself. Bo, when you say you inverted the .apk's, what do you mean?

It means a lot of xml edits to each particular apk, like Settings.apk, DataManager.apk, BlurContacts.apk, BlurDialer.apk, BlurPhone.apk, etc.

The 3 highlighted apks being the biggest pain in the a$$ because they work together for your Dialer/Contacts.

Unkleduke and I were working on those 3 apks (throwing each other ideas/findings back and forth), but he just stopped; it was just such a pain, and I guess he wanted to divert time to something else. Plus, he would rather have and AOSP Rom, so I'm just guessing here, but why put all that work into this if you don't plan on using it ;)
