Help Organizing all those app icons??

Is there any way to reorder, hide, rearrange, move, or otherwise organize all those app icons? I've got three screens full: most I will never use (that I can see now), some I use occasionally, and the three or four I want most are one different screens surrounded by useless stuff.

It would be great if I could make the unwanted ones diappear. It would also be good if I could group similar or relevant icons together (games, music, put my calculator next to my bank app).

Is this possible on a stock phone?

Just take the app icons off the home screen... Sure it's possible: Long press on the icon, then select "Delete". The app is still there, in your app drawer. Just not on your home screens.

Sorry for not being more clear - I'm talking about the app drawer, not the home screen.

So I guess the answer is to organize my apps on the home screen and not use thd app drawer, yah?

Well, not in the app drawer. But, why worry, since you have home screens? I almost never look in my app drawer, unless I'm adding an icon to the home screen.

You could create folders on the home screen.

The OP* has nothing to do with the "home screen."

From the home screen, open the app drawer: All Apps, My Apps, or whatever your vendor decided to call it.

You see a list of every app that is installed to the phone -- many from the vendor, some are android itself, those that one downloaded themselves.
All of the apps appear on a page one can scroll. Mine happen to be in alpha order by app name.

Like the OP, I would like to separate apps onto separate lists somehow:
all games, photo everything, music everything, video everything, flashlights and other toys, and so on.

Is there some way to do that?

GRIMACE -- the iPhone(tm) lets you organize things.

SUGGESTION -- I'd like to tag or label apps with category names of my choice and then have things automatically linked into a corresponding folder or drawer. The apps can all live in one place. Since android is linux, a symlink would let things appear in multiple places that make sense.
