well I have had this problem with 3 epics so far - with a stock OS, rooted OS with EXT4, and custom roms - not using any headset, and have bluetooth turned off as well as GPS and wifi (no 4G here so that also) - and speaker phone dont fix it, I got to restart it
what happens is I will go to make a call or answer a call and I cant here anything and they cant here me
this seems to happen after I just stopped talking on it and hung up
I normally here a "click" in my ear from the speaker when it turns on after I press the call button, its faint but it goes from sounding like I have my ear covered to being able to here stuff - you know how when you are on the phone you can here stuff through your ear thats not on the phone call because its from the mic on the phone from ambient noise around you, if your phone isnt on it muffles it somewhat like you covered your ear up
well I dont here that "click" and I cant here through the earpiece from the mic so I know its not on - its like the speaker and mic arent receiving the signal from the software telling them to turn on for use or whatever it is that makes them turn on, and there isnt an error that causes anything to happen that would fix it
I have this problem about 2 times per week and I have no idea what it is - no one has ever told me they have had the same problem but I just use the reboot button and I am all good after that
