FWIW, I bought mine from letstalk last week- I kept checking the site, and just before I left for work Tuesday morning, it showed in stock--I ordered one and got it Thursday ( for another $8.95-- wanted to be sure I'd have it for the weekend). When they are in, they go fast - no one else I could find had that price- the best I could find otherwise was $179 from a couple of unknown places on the net.

I called here and they charge CA residents and i believe TX residents sales tax. You also have to buy a virgin $25 (or higher amount) card along with the phone.

I'm in California. They don't charge tax here. And you don't need to buy a plan. The carrier charges that separately.

I tried to purchase it online and It didn't let me purchase the phone without purchasing at least the $25 virgin card. I called them to ask them about it, they told me I had to buy the first card from them and after that I can purchase the cards anywhere else.

So I agreed since I had to buy the card anyway. Then he tells me I had to pay for taxes. I told him on the main page it says no sales tax, he told me they charge taxes in Ca and Tx, and they usually only cover the taxes if they're activating the phone for you, but since its pre-paid they don't activate it. It seemed to shady and I told them I wasn't interested anymore. I just checked the site and found this

How are they not activating it for you if they're charging you for a month of service?

I guess because they're not physically loading the card into your phone and providing you a phone number. You still have to activate it yourself. They're just selling you the card along with the phone. It's still a good deal, I just wish the details were clearer on their site.

Correct. It's still the only place where the price is $149.99 that I've seen save getting lucky on EBay.

EDIT: When I go to buy the item from my cart, it says the sales tax was waived and that my total due now is $149.99 exactly. It says that the $25 for service will be charged by the carrier later. Note that I'm in California.

The phone I ordered online is coming Monday, But I only paid $135 shipped, so I guess its worth the wait

Nebraska Furniture Mart had it listed in their sales flier this past Friday for $119, which was a typo i guess. Looks like a couple people on this forum, including me were able to purchase it at that price. Shipping was about $15 bucks. Page 3 of the thread below talks about the sale (bottom of page)

Not too worried about this. It also says

Now I got an email saying

After providing my order number and login info, I got this:

If you called ON or before April 25 (which is the date the sale ended), they could still place an order, and ship it out when the stock comes in.
Rumor had said the $119.99 price was an error and the ad was pulled, this was NOT the case. I ordered mine on the 25th, and its on its way. $131.99 TOTAL.

$149 plus I had to get a $25 card. Which is cool because I have to pay for that anyway. Hope it doesn't take long to fill the order. I found a seller on Ebay that has it for $164.

Just checked my order status (my order was placed on 4-26-11) and it NOW says Estimated Availability of 5-3-2011. Much better than "Unknown". ALSO, just checked my CC and now the PREAUTH is gone, so they have not charged me yet. Still keeping my fingers crossed, but things are looking good.

I've read reviews about letstalk and 80% of them are all bad. I tried to order with two separate credit cards, but the website refused to accept them. I'm going elsewhere to nfm or I might just settle with the $200 and stop by radioshack.

Letstalk has been around for a long time. I ordered from them years ago and had no issues. They have an 8.04 six month rating on ResellerRaings.
