Help Issue With A Message Staying In The Text Box And Needing To Be Deleted Everytime A Message Is Sent

I'm having an issue where I'll go into typing a text message and when I click the recipients name it'll have some text already written in the box and nothing I do seems to get rid of this. It looks as though it used to be a draft message but I've deleted all of my drafts and this is getting pretty annoying. I have to delete the sentence every time I go to text that person, and it's happening with a few other people as well. I've already tried clearing the cache, force closing...I dunno what else to do :'(

I too had this issue and for me it was indeed a draft issue


I cleared out my drafts and problem was gone. I cleared out all drafts.

Forgot how. Try it and restart the phone. Perhaps a battery pull.

I had this same problem for one of my contacts. I just deleted the entire message thread for that person and the problem went away.

I tried deleting the thread and nothing changed :/ Right after sending another message, the same issue started again. I finally restarted the phone and that seems to have done the trick

That is bizarre. Haven't quite had this issue. Are you using the stock Messaging app or another one like Handcent?

It is with the stock app. Very frustrating. I got to a point where I wanted to just send the draft message and hope it went away except the receiver wouyld have no idea what I was talking about.

What would happen if you......

Create a new message
Type in receivers name, thus the draft appears
Delete all text that appears from the draft
Hit the back button

That removes drafts in Handcent, I can't see any reason why this might not work with the stock app.

Tried deleting all the text and it always came back. If or when it happens again I will try that and see if that works.

Deleting the whole conversation worked for me.

Also had this issue.

Deleted the thread and it worked...it was weird, never had that happen before. In the one month I have had this phone, it's happened once.
