Hello,
I don't know if this is 2.3.3 only related, but I will post here since this is the device I own.

With contact integration, I got twitter contacts on my phone, that usually are not shown.

I can merge my Google Contacts with Twitter Contacts, thats really nice. But when I do that the twitter contact name is the used for showing in the contact list, the name I chosen is already there, but not used. Some users put some nicknames (or some other 'scatty' names) in the place of their real names. This is really annoying, since some users change the starting letter for some symbols or their nickname first letter.

There is some way of making the name setted in Google Contacts the main one, over all other merged accounts?

When you "Join" two or more contacts, you should be able to choose which name is displayed as the main contact. If I recall correctly, you should see an entry field toward the top of the screen during the "join" process.

What I do is I perform the "Join" action in the contact with the name I want to show.

Let's say I want to merge John Smith and his other account with the name jsmith111, I tap on John Smith's entry and perform the join there. Then it'll show up as John Smith, at least that's how it works for me.

Well said Sideway!

This works and it seems like a workaround to a limitation. There is no way of choosing the name of what contact will appear when merge, at least in 2.3.3. Works well if the contact have very similar names, otherwise you need to go to contacts main screen -> menu -> View options -> Your twitter account -> All contacts.
You can disable this when fineshed the merging.

Thank you for sharing this information.

I've never tried joining Twitter contacts with other contacts, but when I join two normal contacts, it lets me set the name it's displayed as (or set a nickname at the bottom under "more"). To join two contacts, I view the contact card of one I want to join, hit Menu>Edit Contact, Menu again>Join.
