Root rooting stock froyo

I have the same question. I'm trying to flash a ROM but all the instructions available are for stock 2.1 not stock 2.2.

i have been running roms for a long while but i am tired of the little quirks and decided to try the stock froyo for a while till a real stable gingerbread comes out. But i want to root so i can sideload apps and get tb etc. and connot find a way to root the stock froyo

You can root a stock 2.2 by using Super 1-click at XDA Developers. If you prefer you can also use Bay Wolf's All in One program. Super One Click also gives the option to root a stock Froyo phone and allow installation of non-market apps. Rooting takes about a minute.

i have tried both and neither work i get signature verification failed when trying to reinstall packages:cool::thinking::thinking:

You can also get it directly from the XDA site- [APP]SuperOneClick v1.9.1 (Root, Unroot, Enable Non-Market App) - xda-developers

The download link is at the end of the first message, along with a link to the latest Samsung drivers.

either way it works great and i must say I am a huge fan if custom roms but I am also very happy with stock 2.2 my phone is running great and everything works with no bugs.

Can't wait to try the new 2.3 roms but imo a lil too early yet :rolleyes:

Thank you! I tried getting it off XDA last night but that link (shortfuse.org) was down too, seems to work fine now!
