Just wanted to point out to you guys that the "1700 mAh" battery from htcexpress is on sale right now. HTC Thunderbolt Verizon LTE 4G 1700mAhx2 Battery+Dock USB Charger PD42100

If you add the coupon code OFF10 at checkout, your total is $38.69 w/ free shipping. Even if it's no better than the stock battery, that's 2 batteries and a wall charger capable of charging your phone & spare for under $40 delivered. Not a bad deal.

How do these batteries compare to stock? Noticeable improvement, or just nice to have an extra battery?

I just got mine yesterday, so it's a little early to tell. It does seem like it's lasting a little longer, but I might have had a bum stock battery? To really figure it out, I'm going to have to run it for a few weeks and bump charge a few times to teach the phone what it has now.

I gotta tell you, and granted, I could not read the writing on the battery from the image that is provided on the page, but both the battery and the charger look EXACTLY like the 2x1500 batteries and wall charger I bought off eBay a couple weeks ago. The LED colors on the charger even look exactly the same (same magenta charging status light). Is it weird that the battery (red one) says Thunderbolt and MyTouch4G? As an aside, the batteries and charger I bought were for the MyTouch4G, but they work just fine on my Tbolt.

BTW, for 2x1500 mytouch4g batteries and wall charger, I paid $11 shipped from Hong Kong.

Sounds exactly like this one. One is black, one is red, they both mention the MyTouch4G/Thunderbolt on the packaging. The charger is magenta when charging and blue when it's done.

If you got it for $11, that's really awesome although I've had bad experience dealing with sellers in HK, so I'm fine with the upcharge to deal with a US company.

slightly off topic of the thread title.

but has anyone purchased the extended battery?(2750 i think) i see it is double in size but im wondering if its not that bad and if it is worth it to combat the talked about issues.

im debating on the thunderbolt or waiting for dual core. battery issue is the only reason i havent drove to the store and bought it already.

thanks,

There's a thread that some people have mentioned the life they are getting from the "tumor."

I actually got 3 "1500mah" Honk Kong batteries and charger for $11 shipped :p. I've been getting about 75% of a stock battery with those. No complaints when I only paid $11. I got my pair of 1700mah batteries today and there is a definite difference in build quality so I'm not worried. As for the wall charger its the exact same one except the sticker on it is English instead of Chinese, but its been performing fine for me. And whats wrong with it saying myTouch on it? Its a battery that fits both the Thunderbolt and the myTouch...

I paid 10 bucks for two 1700 batteries and wall charger, with free ship from ebay. Batteries work just as good as htc.
Oh, see a few others have to. Guess it could be hit or miss. I didnt have much luck with my last phone ordering batteries. They didnt work. But these do.

Have a link for that? Did you just get lucky that there was no bid war or is someone selling for that price?

I like these batteries. I had a good experience with similar batteries from this seller for my Incredible. Battery life has been great for my TB and I'd say that I get a couple more hours out of usage. Not super amazing, but suits my needs very well. Plus, I love having the peace of mind that I have a spare battery that I can pop in if I need to.

I got mine today off of Amazon, I didn't want to wait 3+ weeks for shipping from HK. I got one red, one black, both marked 1500Mah (despite being advertized as 1700Mah). Neither of them fit properly in my phone, the little metal clip from my sim card was bumping into them. I tried bending that (gently), but that didn't work. A small tap with a hammer onto the battery fixed the problem pretty easily. If I hadn't have received them already I probably wouldn't buy them now, but since I have them already I'll keep them. It's awfully handy having the wall charger and 2 spare batteries for when I travel.

Those are not the batteries associated with this thread. This thread is for the 1700mAh batteries sold by HTC Express (aka: chichitek on ebay). The 1700mAh batteries are labeled as 1700mAh and fit perfectly into the tbolt. It has not been confirmed that they are actually 1700mAh as labeled but myself and others who have purchased these are getting better life from them then the OEM 1400mAh batteries.
