what to get if cant get ipad2?

hi all,

was thinking of getting ipad2 but cant get hold of one at the moment.

so was then thinking maybe need netbook/light laptop - but dont fancy browsing without a touch screen

....but there arent any decent android tablets out yet as far as i can see? :/

i think the zoom is out soonish - but reviews werent great

im after a light unit - decent 10in min screen - quick to start up - ideally a touch screen for nice browsing etc

any thoughts?

I had a XOOM but returned it and got a Ipad2. Happy I made the decision. I am a hardcore Android user/believer but Android just is not there yet IMHO.

For what I was wanitng it for, it is perfect, browsing, FB, Twitter and games with my GF who has the original iPad.

I got one about a month ago. Went into Best Buy everyday and finally got one on like the 3rd day 32GB Wifi. Was so excited that I did not even look at package. Got home, opened and got depressed, turns out it was white Well I figured I had 14 days to return. Tried everyday again, got lucky on the 8th day. I have BB within 2 mins so was no big deal. I hear that Apple stores have them everyday when they open, but are gone quick. Keep trying and you will get one and not be disappointed.

I have a top of the line iPad 2, 64 GB 3G. It's nice, but I'm not that impressed with it. I am really looking forward to the ASUS Transformer myself. For my family I'm debating getting them the Viewsonic G-tablet or the Transformer.

iOS is just way too limiting. I hate going back to simple icons. There are a lot of things that Apple doesn't think you should be allowed to do, menu settings that are placed all over the place, it's pretty disorganized and half-hazardly done. The iPad 2 also is not smooth all the time, it freezes occasionally, crashes the apps or springboard when memory gets overloaded.

Android is not perfect but it is way better.

Isn't Transformer out in the UK already? Why don't you get it? It's inexpensive and better than Xoom. And you can get a keyboard, too, if you feel like it.
