I dropped my Optimus V on the tile bathroom floor

Yes I did the unthinkable, I dropped my precious phone on the tile bathroom floor while flipping on the light switch. I watched in horror as if in slow motion the poor thing fell downward, landed on the top corner and bounced an impressive several inches in the air. The back came off, the battery lunged out, and it went eerily dark. I quickly scooped it up and put it all back together. Before I was done with the first gutteral sob I heard the most beautiful sound, that chick squawking "..virgin mobile!" It fired up perfectly and hasn't missed a beat since. I'll be damned if it's not running a little quicker.

Just wanted to share a happy ending with my never-ceases-to-impress-me Optimus V. Feel free to share your "dropped" stories :)

I've only drop mine on my bed. I'm lucky. You should get a body glove case.

I've given that some thought, ya know, and I just use the upright chargers so much, I can't imagine fussin with a case on off on off, all the time. I have a charger here by my sofa and one on my desk at work. Rarely is the thing off a charger.

After I read what you wrote, I closely inspected my V. Not a scratch. In fact I noticed that it's already got kind of a rubber case. Rubber-ish. And what appears to be a metal "roof". My Blackberry 8330 Curve was plastic all around and I learned to be pretty careful, only dropping it once in two years.

Much obliged for the advice though :)

Ive dropped mine on the concrete floor in the garage and on the driveway cuz I forgot it was in my lap getting out of the car -_- both times I about crapped my pants but my phone is still fine :) although theres a nick in the metal on the top left...just got a silicon case 2 days ago and sadly, I hate it lol. I like how it looks without a case and dirt gets trapped around the edges of the case when its on...guess I'll just ture tie the phone to my waist lol

Geez I just dropped my V for the first time last night. I was getting out of the car and it slipped out of my hand and landed on the asphalt. Its got a some nice battle wounds now but luckily the viewable screen wasn't damaged. Its got some nice big gashes on the top right side above the volume buttons and on the screen near the speaker and a little one by the buttons :(
