lag when recieving calls

I got my phone back late oct, and i use it unrooted, all the time, I can make calls very simply. with minor lag here and there.

But anytime my phone is asleep, and i try to answer any incoming call, either Google voice or direct, I can't slide the screen to answer. and none of the buttons do anything and the call goes missed.

it's really annoying. my wife has the same phone and hers eloquently answers calls. WTF!

after a few moments, the display changes to show the call is missed. and i can operate the phone again - usually with the dismay of having to call the person back, at the same time while they are leaving voicemail - NOT being able to answer the phone when it rings is really kinda a critical problem for me.

Anyone familiar with this issue, and would like to take a stab at helping me fix it.

I'm willing to wipe and restore to defaults just to make it work right.

Although, when I try to slide the screen to answer it--it's like a 50/50 shot and a scramble that hopefully it works and the call is answered. My phone is relatively new, so I haven't really focused too much on it as most of my calls are outbound...but I did want to post and let you know that it's not just you!

in effort to diagnose this. lets list all the apps we have installed - maby something in the background is interupting us?

I know it's a small effort to sit down and list all the apps. but I'm going to try.

That's it! I took all the other crap off my phone a week ago when it was terribly slow--as I performed a factory reset. So, this is all I have on it and I haven't even added/removed anything else. Hope this helps.

did you update to the later version of android os?

Make some test calls to the phone while locked. Try answering by only pressing the green button just to the left of the HOME button.

I'd also install/open a Task Manager (Wing Tseng is what I use) to see what else the phone is doing. There are many schools of thought about the value of a TM. But a TM is at least going to allow you to get a simple overview of what the phone is doing at that moment. TOP can also be useful, but is a bit deeper than most want to plunge. BTW, I don't advocate killing tasks unless absolutely dire or you're troubleshooting. Rather, just uninstalling the misbehaving apps.

I don't think any apps are misbehaving - i removed ONE app that does call locating. it tells you what state/country ppl are calling you from. it wasnt very useful, but i had a feeling that was the problem.

today I got a call and it was able to answer it fine, but the call itself was while i was recharging it and the screen isnt locked while i recharge it.
