sorry for the possibly silly questions to follow but for those that know me, you know i like to know everything first,
1, how does fastboot work? i understand how to get to it but have never actually used it
2, when it says reboot to recovery from fastboot - is there an option within fastboot to do this?
3, im thinking of installing oxygen table for redux and i just want to make sure that redux fits into it well
4, if i want to go back to gv do i just flash an alternative table and then nandroid to restore?
5, ive seen redux has a ulv flash - has anyone used this and does it improve the battery much?

sorry for all these questions but i love the thought of having a fast small gingerbread rom with loads of storage for apps.
thanks in advance to all those that will no doubt help me :D

1. fastboot is similar to in that its a command line tool and you need to be booted into that mode to use it. drivers will need to be installed for it if you havent done already

2. there is an option on the screen from fastboot to go to recovery using voldown the chosing power

3. im not a fan of this hboot tables and i use custom MTD layout instead so i can trim it to whatever i want. also be aware that if your cache size is too small you cannot flash radios from recovery and you will have to fastboot flash (you should anyway)

4. yes

5. i cant answer you as i havent kept up with any of the topics recently

Cheers guys, what drivers need to be installed to use fastboot? Do you mean on the pc? Do u need to be connected to the pc to use fastboot for the purpose if flashing a table? As I assume I've got them sorted as I rooted.
Also the extra 70mb would be nice as currently I've go 20mb in the phone left and 250mb of my ext (of 512mb)
Is it good then to flash redux, see if I like it, do a nandroid and flash the table then restore the nandroid into the new table size?

you can use fastboot commander or android flasher too. you can find them in xda.

I've got 119 apps, well I just counted all of them in the app drawer so some are system apps, but I've got 20mb free in internal. I think I will just nandroid then flash redux and see what its like, if I like it I will then think about using a custom table and see where I am after that.
There is still loads of roms I have yet to try.
Does redux have the friend stream?
