Help GPS use & Phone Restarting

I have come upon the most aggrivating problem with my EVO and wanted to see if anyone else has been having the same problem.

If I turn the GPS on and try to use the phone for navigating, it inevitable will restart itself continuously after 5-10 minutes or so of use. At that point, it will restart over and over. Try to make a call after it restarts? Restart. Try to use nav again? Restart. Never fails. I have been testing it the past couple of days and it seems to happen only when the gps signal is turned on, and after a couple of minutes of use.

Anyone else find this? It is infuriating when you are trying to use the Nav and the damn thing starts resetting right when you are in a downtown metropolis trying to find your way around. I basically had a useless phone for like an hour. Until I figured out it was the GPS, it just reset itself over and over for an hour straight...it seemed there was nothing I could do to stop it...if I touched anything, it would immediately restart.

What program/app are you using? Telanav? Google Maps? or some other program.

Did you take out the battery?

I was using Google Maps. I did remove the battery, but the same thing would continue to happen.

When did you last drop this phone? If a battery pull doesn't resolve the issue you need to uninstall each of your apps 1 by 1 until the problem resolves itself. That doesn't work do a factory reset. If that fails then you need to use your insurance and get a refurbished or brand new EVO.

I have never dropped the phone. I really dont have many apps installed, and never have any other issues with the phone. Many days when I am at work it stays charging to the computer and it never restarts. It only seems to happen with the GPS on after a couple of minutes of use and/or charging. Ill have to hit the store and see what they say (ie deal with their excuses and bs) :(

Are your app and system updates are up to date?

I didn't ask you how many apps you have installed. Lots of time poorly coded apps can interfere with the Android OS.

Exact thing happened to me many times when using GPS but they gave me a brand new phone last Friday.

What saddens me the most is that I have no idea what to do with the MSL. I will keep all this info in these helpful posts, try to solve the issue with these fixes if it happens again.

Pleeeezzz, don't let it happen again because it's definitely the GPS doing it.
