Just bought e g slate and to see if there is any tips or tricks and find out about hooking up external hard drive or flash drive or sd cards to add storage to this?

Sd cards are a yes as far as usb devices being able to be used on this I believe android has to have the support for it first on the software side which should be in android 3.1 which all honeycomb tablets will get eventually.
