Root Odd Behavior

Greetings, y'all:

A month ago, I rooted my Eris and installed XTRSense 5.01. Since then, my phone has been stable, fast(er), more responsive, add-free, tethered, and with vastly increased app space. You might say that I am as happy as a Mavs fan at a Lakers playoff game.

Lately, however, I have noticed two relatively minor problems that I have not been able to solve:

1] I update 4-6 apps nearly every day in the Android Market. Mostly, this is routine. However, three updates crashed during installation over the past week. In each case, I have not been able to subsequently install any version of those apps: Kindle, My Verizon, and YP. Now, I am reluctant to update my more important apps, like the new version of Google Maps. Does anybody have any idea why this is happening and/or how to fix it?

2] My Wi-Fi toggle no longer works. It turns the Wi-Fi service on and off, but it no longer automatically connects to a hotspot. I can still connect, but I now must do so through the settings menu. Perhaps the problem is related to my Green Power (like Juice Defender) app. If not, I have no clue what is going on. Do you have any ideas?

As a bonus for those of you who have read this far, I highly recommend the Android Injector for your PC. It allows you to quickly and easily sideload nearly anything onto your Eris, including apps that have disappeared from the Android Market (like Mazeoid, Invadroid, Tetrads, Doom, and NubiNews). No root is required. If this interests you, start here:

Thanks in advance to any of you who respond.

Try going into settings->applications->manage applications. Wait for it to refresh - it will probably take a minute or two - then go into Market (it may be easier to find it by pressing menu->sort by size then menu->sort A-Z.)

Within there, you can try pressing the button "clear cache" to see if that helps. If it does not, you can try "uninstall updates" and see if that helps instead.

Funny, I just installed JuiceDefender last night again. It may be - one of JuiceDefender's options is to remember which WiFi access points that you typically connect to by cell tower network location and only activate the WiFi radio when you are close to them. Perhaps Green Power has a similar feature?
