How big do u think that screens are going to eventually be

I remember a long time ago when every phone was about 2 inches or a little more. I bet that if people even suggested that a phone screen size would turn out to be 4.3 inches that they would of been called crazy. So that being said what screen size do yall thing might be in the works?

For phones I can't imagine too many of them going over 4.5. When you look at something like the Dell Streak 5 its just massive. I could not even think would it would be like holding it up to the side of your face to talk on it seeing how its as big as your head. I would be cool with using something like that but I really like where its at with the 4.3 devices.

There was a picture posted on one of the Android blogs (can't remember which right now), of one of the Wide Recievers on a Dell Streak 5 at the draft. Thing looks freaking HUGE!!! Plus you have to remember that the dude is like 6'10" something and being a WR has huge hands, it still looked big... lol...

They will go as big as what people are willing to buy. You have to think people that are tall they seem to have bigger hands and a droid1 is kinda hard on us to type. Plus my eyesight isn't thr best and I got eye strain a lot. So many different factors to take in to account. One size don't fit all in this case

They can kinda get away with it though. Since they call it a tablet phone lol. It is going to be a damn one leg work out in the pocket.

So u are saying that it seems that people are getting taller and taller over time? So manufaturers will just match the average height of people and make the screen size that fits?

Looking at the pics I could imagine the ad agency's casting call. "Looking for men with large hands"

They will keep getting bigger until one flops for having a too big screen. If the Dell Streak does well we will see a 5.5 inch screen, if none flop I would think the threshold for the manufacturer will be around 7 inches as then you have a tablet.

Then jean compaines will have to make a pocket dedicated just for the big phone. Or start carrying around backpacks.

No I am saying is a small phone in a tall person hands is harder to type and use in general. Than a shorter person with the same phone. Just like you don't buy a sub compact car if you are 6'5". So they are I would think making phones to fit larger hands and people with poorer eyesight.

I dont think they will get any bigger. there has to be some cut off to seemingly neccessitate tabs. Right now HTC has a 7" tab coming and samsung's tab is 7". Makes no sense to offer 5" phones and 7" tabs. Plus 4.3" is the absolute max for pocketability. Just putting on a soft case henders my bolts pocketability (and no I dont wear jeans like I'm hearding cattle, always loose yet never hanging off the ass thuggish).

I think that we will see flexible very flat phones that will fold up. They will be thin to slide into a pocket and they will unfold to screen sizes bigger than 4.3. There was an article on them today in BBC news with. Prototype.

I agree. I did a panel group transcript months ago about a concept phone that was like this. It folded out larger, but would fold up to something like an Incredible size. But this device also doubled as a full PC. It would be docked on a wireless station, but was totally portable. Pretty neat idea, but I wonder what that price tag would be.

Price tag will be the same as all technology, astronomical to start and eventually low enough for everyone to have one in their back pocket. The prototype looked kind of low tech but the video was interesting. It was activated by bending it in different directions.

4.3 is TOO BIG, in my opinion. I'd like to see my next phone be 4.0.
