Who updates htc sim free incredible s to gingerbread?

Hi

I have a sim free Incredible s (s710e) and I was wondering Who updates htc sim free incredible s to 2.3 gingerbread? Does it come from HTC from sim free divices or the network? The reason being my network does not sell the Incredible S.

The update will be pushed to your phone by HTC servers. It is independent of your network carrier. Unless the carrier blocks it for some reason.

Thanks for the reply. That's good news. I thought I'd be stuck with 2.2!
Now I just have to wait for htc to get their finger out for the UK and Ireland release...

Yes thats true but they are only doing so many countries at a time. Apparently they are still testing the software for the uk and ireland....

What country are you living in? And is your phone sim free?

I received a email from htc today saying I could expect gingerbread by the end of June!

I put an inquiry to HTC Hong Kong and their response is "sometime in summer".

I can't get the update too my phone came from UK cause the store i bought it from had shipment mixed up, tho my friend bought phone from the same store before me (we are talking bout incredible s) and he got the update for gingerbread it's a bit kick in the groin if you ask me ) i hope i will get 2.3.3 till 25th of may, for developing reasons. Cheers long live Android
