Help email problems

Anyone else noticed that t9 spelling doesnt work on the email app on some keyboard apps?

I have tried Keypurr which is in manual mode and Smart Keyboard pro but neither spell using the email app, but both are fine on Handcent sms. However the Samsung keyboard works ok.

BUT these are both apps that predict words....

Any ideas how faults are logged? Both work perfectly on my Desire HD.

I noticed that in co pilot, if youhave t9 turned on it totally screws up what you are typing.

doesnt work on hotmail / generic email app. Does work on Gmail app though

Also when in landscape mode I can't see what I am typing without moving the text part of the screen around.

Anyone else having problems with keyboard apps on email, not using predictive text?

The email app seems to have it's problems. The predictive text just doesn't show up, regardless of what keyboard you use (i'm using swiftkey)

Also, i don't get notifications in the status bar any more either

I was starting to think it was me!!!

Not a good thing for heavy email users.

Can't see where on phandroid to log Gingerbread problems....ANYONE?

I'd be keen to learn if other GB users are having problems. Worked on on my 2.2 DHD.

anyone know how to log faults on 2.3?

These worked fine on 2.2 HTC Desire HD so its either a 2.3 or Samsung S2 issue?

i found a forum with another keyboard developer talking about this issue, apparently although he worked around it the problem is that the email app is asking the keyboard to not display predictions, so the problem is with that app, not the keyboards!

this is a real problem for me too.
been using swiftkeyX for a long time on my HTC Desire, and now got a GS2 and really like the stock email app, but swiftkeyX doesn't work with it...

what's a proper solution here? is there an alternative email app recommended? only need it for my work emails, for personal email i use Gmail and that app works fine with swiftkeyX.

turning off swiftkeyX every time before using the stock email app is NOT an option. and apparently it's nothting that swiftkeyX developers could solve, because the issue lies in the email app itself
