Root .595 Leaks (There is now no path to the OTA from GB)

I just flashed .595 over .591 and it booted up fine the first time. It still showed root, and I used D2 bootstrap to reboot into recovery (to install the CRT mod) and I'm getting bootloops now. If I pull the battery and try to boot normal I still get bootloops.

How do I get back into clockwork to restore a nandroid? (I made a backup before doing anything with .595)

That's exactly what happened to me. I had to SBF back to Froyo to get my phone working again. Which version of the .595 update did you use? I used the odexed rooted version the first time. The second time I used the deodexed version, which worked fine. I was able to use D2 Bootstrap to create a backup and install the CRT mod.

Same. I used the odexed version. SBFing right now. :(

**Um... now it's bootlooping after SBFing. Wtf?

You have to do a factory reset after SBF; the Gingerbread data isn't compatible with the FroYo SBF.

Ahhhh. Thanks!

Can I just SBF and then run the gingerbread ota update.zip?

*I guess I can. :)

**Or not. After SBF, I ran the gingerbread ota update.zip, rooted & installed d2 bootstrap, and then flashed .591. After that flash, I restored my .591 backup and when it rebooted I was getting a 'voice command' force close loop. Ugh. Gonna start from scratch, I guess, and kiss my backup goodbye. :(

***I rebooted into clockwork and flashed the .595 deodexed zip. I can now boot into Android without any of those force closes, but I can't use d2 bootstrapper to reboot into recovery (still want to install that CRT animation!). Gonna try to do it from phone-off now... And, it works! :)

So after the official OTA arrives, how long does it usually take to get a working SBF of that?
I may just wait until the SBF gets here, just so I can avoid the nonsense of having to play leapfrog with the operating system every time a new leak hits. It would make much better sense to start from .596 or whatever the "official" release is so I can save about an hour each time I mess up something.
JMHO, YMMV, of course...

Wow, .595 sucks big time. The Market isn't working right (apps are taking forever to download and then they hang on 'installing' for 10+ minutes, disappear, and aren't installed) and my battery life is horrible. I was still 'full' at noon yesterday and right now it's just after 9am and it's already at 70%. I'm going back to .591 asap.

No, I used deodexed. Nothing is running properly at all, I was honestly better off on Apex 2.0. Liberty before this didn't even run that well. There's also an issue with Facebook, when I don't touch the screen, the white area has a grey tint, but when I touch to move up and down it goes back to white.. and if I start to drag from the top of Facebook I can pull a light blue transparent box down for a second or two. My quadrant score is just over 1500 as well.

Not sure why, but the apps did the same on my market, but that was b/c they all tried to automatically install at once at the moment I first opened market. I cancelled them all. THen downloaded each on my terms and had zero issues.

As far as your 21 hrs of battery use and left with 70% life... what are you complaining about:thinking:
