Help Changing the default messaging app

I am on Vegan 5.1.1

Is there anyway to change the default text messaging app in the contacts? Right now when you click on the text message button it opens google voice and I would like it to open my sync sms app.

Is this something I can tweak or is it something the rom chef would have to do?

You can try clearing defaults on the google voice app. Go into settings>applications>googlevoice>clear defaults. Then go to your contacts and hit messaging. See if it ask you which program should be the default messaging app.

BTW, "rom chef" term...you must come from a winmo background.
