A few weeks back I downloaded the unofficial .288 I am now trying to upgrade to the .295 so I can get the OTA. I was told I needed to be rooted so I used gingerbreak and rooted my phone. I tried installing the .295 zip and I keep getting signature verification errors. I don't know whats going on and I am becoming very frustrated. any tips would be great.

sorry im kinda new to all this but if I SBF back to .340 will I lose everything?

no worries.

Yes and No...do a backup of your current build. The only thing is you can't apply a GB backup to a Froyo build nor the other way around.

honestly if i were you and your on .588 and everything is working ok i would just wait it out for now at least till more info comes out.

Are you trying to install it in normal recovery or clockwork mod recovery? You get to clockwork mod recovery by using the program "droid 2 bootstrap".

You should not need to go back to FroYo if all you want to do is get to .595.

You will need to go back to froyo before you can get the OTA though. That's the only way to get there.

Just flashed to the new .595 this morning, so far so good!

I was running the deodexed .588
used D2 bootstrap
created backup
choose zip from SD card
install deodexed .595
(did not wipe data/cache)
Reboot system

Had the Droid eye for about 5 minutes, then all is well. All of my settings, widgets, and apps in the same place :)

I still have the kernel that ends with #1, should that be the same?
